OmniHair Shader for Daz Studio

OmniHair Shader for Daz Studio

We are excited to announce an updated Daz Studio, including the NVIDIA OmniHair shader to level up hair, fur, and fiber instantly. Continue reading to learn more about its helpful capabilities.

Based on the principles of physically based rendering, the OmniHair shader aims to simulate the behavior of hair as it interacts with light in a physically accurate manner. This enables the creation of photorealistic hair materials that closely resemble real-world hair to a degree not previously possible in Daz Studio.

With dramatically improved scattering and refraction, hairs that employ the OmniHair shader will blend from the hair to the Daz figures nearly seamlessly, creating a cohesive and visually stunning appearance that enhances the overall aesthetic and realism of your 3D characters.

Dual Lobe Shader vs OmniHair Shader

When it comes to hair color, the OmniHair shader mimics a real-life approach to hair color. It defines the original hair color by the amount of melanin in the hair. Then, it defines the color by the amount and color of dye applied on top of its original color. This enables the creation of anything from true-to-life hair colors to complex materials with all new and creative looks.

User-Friendly Application:

Despite its advanced capabilities, the OmniHair shader maintains user-friendliness at its core. Applying the shader to your 3D hair is just as easy as any other shader, ensuring a smooth transition for both seasoned artists and newcomers to the Daz Studio platform.

The OmniHair shader, with its emphasis on better lighting, seamless integration, hyper-realistic potential, strand-based precision, and user-friendly application, takes 3D hair in Daz Studio to the next level.

Looking Forward:
