Question about Simon Casual Hair

I recently read about how resource intensive fiber mesh hair can be. There is also a warning on the product page that it may use a lot of memory. I really like the hairstyle but only have 8Gb of RAM. I was wondering if that is enough to render it in 3Delight?

    It depends on what else is in the scene. With one person. Yes. Two people. Yes. More people and start adding sets like the Carnival set or what not then you ar borderline out of memory.

    Thank you for the reply. I think I will put it back on my wishlist. Sometime next spring I should be able to upgrade to 16 Gb of RAM, so I will wait until then.

    If you're using 3delight, the uberhair shader may help. I used to use it to try and cut down on render times for transparencies etc. I have NO idea tho if it works the same on fibremesh hair tho.
