Saving an animation .avi ? there's a drop down menu, with various options of compression, is one better than another ? compatible with youtube?

I usually use an image series.

The usual advice it render to an image sequence and then turn it into an avi in a dedicated editor; it's more robust (for fixing errors, recovering from crashes part way through - and allowing you to compare different options for compression without rerendering).

I compared all and none gives good results.

For those who don't know how to create a video file from a series of images here are the instructions.

    Installs, VirtualDub and XVID Codec
    http://www.virtualdub.org/
    https://www.xvid.org/

In DAZ Studio rendered in series of images. When you already have all, you open the VirtualDub (File> Open Video File ...) and only select the first, eg Nieve000. it is not necessary seleecionar all images.

After you click on the option "Video" (at the top) you select ... "Frame Rate"> Changue to Frame Rate (fps) ... here you put the same numbers of frames per second that you used in DAZ Studio. For example, 30 fps. [It should be the same] Click OK.

Again, click on the option "Video" and select "Compression ..." select Xvid MPEG-4 Codec. And click OK.

You can play with the values of "Configure" like "maximum quality" If you change the "Profile @ Level" you may receive error sometimes.

Finally click on File> Save as AVI ... and save.

They began to collect all the images on a video file.
