Forum search bug? Broken when a thread has too many hits

When I do a forum search, sometimes I get thread hits and it tells me my keywords are in certain replies.

But some of the threads it shows me will have a hit of "Keywords found in many replies - Search this thread". But every time I click the "Search this thread" link, I get no hits. Is something broken? Is there a work-around?

    "Search this thread" is an advanced search function. Advanced Search has been broken since the site upgrade. Allegedly, this forum is getting replaced sometime DAZsoon, so it hasn't been fixed.
