surprisingly hard to find. Need figures credible as lawyers, judges, doctors . . . eg late 30s through mid '50s.
Any ideas?
Think "Dad", but not "granddad"

Which base figure/generation?
I can think of a couple for M4/Genesis...and with the proper UV sets, Genesis 2...

There are a couple there...like Stolz...I wouldn't want to upset him, if he were sitting on the bench. (yes the scar is on/off).
Also Zev0's Aging Morphs (the Genesis 3 one isn't out yet)

I adore the aging morphs and advise them for anyone interested in anything other than 'cute lithe chick' art.
For actually fixed figures, I find http://www.daz3d.com/bellatrix-for-genesis-2-female-s and http://www.daz3d.com/horror-survivors-marius
Marius is awesome because not only is there a really good skin, but the clothing is awesome for modern stuff and there's an eyebrow, facial hair, and hairdo included as well.
http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/Gordon-602678582 uses Marius skin and aging morphs (also vascularity and a few others)
this was also released recently http://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-edgar-hd-for-michael-7
Thanks all . .. FWIW
http://www.daz3d.com/fwsa-edgar-hd-for-michael-7 is kinda the problem-- its a 20 year old body, with a somewhat greyer texture. Not convincing for an older guy . . .
The aging morphs look more promising. Ah . . . just loaded the Phoenix1966 page-- his Stolz is just right, w/o scar!
I posted this link in my Art Studio thread, quite a few people didn't know it existed so far as aging morphs. It gives you a variety, some subtle. You'd never know it from the main promo either.
There are Aging Morphs for Genesis 2. http://www.daz3d.com/aging-morphs-2-bundle-hd
Here's an example of one of my best 'old guy' accomplishments.
Yanmei skin + skin overlay (adding wrinkles and age spots) + Zev0 aging morphs + freebie 'wizard hands' morphs from... somewhere.

@timmins.william -- he's very good, but he's not middle aged, and illustrates the problem.
Among the things that happen to people and their faces as they hit their mid-40s to 50s is that they get "thicker". You'll notice your neck size go up, more jowls . . . most of the models tend to focus on "wrinkly" and a more aged texture.
That effect isn't middle aged, its more "wizened" and old. (but its very good) -- he looks 65-75, but definitely not 50.
Thanks . . . the upper right morph looks promising.
But in general, I think modelers would do well to have a look at some references. The face is super subtle, and we're very attuned to it. A very youthful shape -- eg little fat-- with aged textures and wrinkles looks "old". "Middle aged" is something very different .. . its in the softening of jaw contours, more fat around the neck, a slight hollowing below the eyes, subtle wrinkles.
What's wrong with George HD or is this Genesis 2 Only?
This is G2M with Zev0 and core morphs. The default skin run through Iray Skin Converter.

That's good.
Some not so young textures for G2M

some of these head morphs look not young

I'll note that the G2M default skins look pretty non-young, assuming you morph the figure appropriately -- what with razor burn, freckles, mottled skin, etc. Compare that to Brandon or many of the other even skin-toned figures.
Here is a good middle aged woman for V6/G2f
http://www.daz3d.com/fw-joanie-hd
http://www.daz3d.com/bellatrix-for-genesis-2-female-s has a few morphs to vary the age a bit, might be worth looking at.
http://www.daz3d.com/george-hd-for-genesis-3-male-s you would probably want to dial back a bit, but was very popular last week for making aged men.
he's good . . . he's morbidly obese, but he's the right idea
That's very good. The face needs a little more weathering, but the shape is just right.
The other thing that doesn't work for middle-aged faces is perfect symmetry. Even in young faces, mirror symmetry looks a little uncanny, but in an aged face it just looks "wrong". Asymmetries, both of geometry and texture are important.
I think you're being a mite harsh on poor old Edgar. Just my opinion but I see plenty of potential there.
