    I should add, having a missiles too close to the bike would result in the missiles being sucked into the front fuselage. Modern aircraft, with the sidewinders especially, have them at the furthest point on the vehicle, to prevent the air vortex from sucking the weapon into the air intakes. That's why they fire from under the wing, at the end of the wing, or from the front of the nose cone in the event of a .50 calibre gattling gun.

    The design of your bike would not allow for missiles from the sides if you were going for realism, they'd fire too close to the air intake at the front of the bike, and result in blowing itself up, from the underside you could fire a weapon down onto your enemy. you could also forego the arming of the bike itself, and arm the rider with a fully functional beam cannon, or some other form of energy weapon. Hell, you could even apply a guided gattling gun, able to move and rotate based on where the pilot looks, just like the Apache helicopters are able to.

    Yep, agreed. Design is kind of a big thing for me. I'm not going to do a weapon set unless I can make it seem plausible and consistent with the bike's design. Love that you found that example from "The Mask".

    They would work for ground attacks, adding rear defense flares would work for the sky.

    There is also the option of defensive systems, ie shielding. And then there is also helmet mounted targeting lasers, helm tracers, On Sight Targeting and retaliation systems that could be added to the helmet, and not the bike itself, which would keep with the aesthetic of the sleek bike.

    If we're talking "plausible", I don't get the obsession with rotary barrel cannons, especially on motorcycles. Yes they're cool, but there are significant penalties. Machine guns could work because they are lighter and have a much smaller profile. Still high rates of fire and don't have to spin up (added weight and bulk).

    FWIW, there is no concern with sucking the missle into the intake, which is irrelevant for a motorcycle, even a flying one. The missle's acceleration will always be high enough to preclude such concerns.

    I'm leaning this way as well. Seems like rotary fits well with a Heavy Metal, Road Warrior, Post Apocalyptic feel. I think that's cool and not ruling it out as a totally different look applied to the whole bike. But the original design was meant to be highend engineered for speed and maneuverability, not hacked, welded, and hammered on for Mad Max. Just sayin'

    Ooh! Coudl have a microwave beam, or a sound cannon, or a laser cutting particle beam. Or a flamethrower attachment. Or a void burst spatter pattern cluster bomb.  Laser particle whips would also be really unique (I'd imagine a difficult one to create though).

    I had meant to save for it, but I went on a splurge yesterday with the Flash sales. Looks like Renderosity will get even less of my 3D dollar. It's mine, all mine!

    Daz was not helping you out any by releasing you with a Raiya/OOT combo and KA's new set and DarkEdgeDesign's huge Hangar. But you have not been releasing product frequently enough for me to count on a sale; furthermore, I refuse to wait two months for this thing to be eligible for one. Thanks for this.     Sidewinders and similar missiles are often mounted on the wingtips of a fighter aircraft so that the fins on the missile smooth out wingtip vortices, which reduces aerodynamic drag and improves fuel consumption.

    You are so welcome! Answer to #1: Each part that moves is a bone, so they can be hidden that way. Some parts have more than one material zone. Answer to #2: I haven't included poses but I have positioned the back peg and sport handle bars to match Yamaki Rapture, and the front peg and ape hangers to match Heavy Motorcycle Road Cruiser, so with some adjustment existing pose sets should work well. If the product does well, I absolutely do want to follow up with a pose set and I think I have some kickass ideas for that. The passenger pose would be a must because I made the seat and extra foot rest.

    Really ingenious of you to match the architecture of two big sellers. I suggest you start on that pose set now, because there has been a huge hole in the market for this product. It hearkens to retro without being retro, and it is engineered like it just might be real world functional. Plus, your promos are next level state-of-the-art, although the bike is so wicked that I'd buy it even if it were an unrigged .obj. I'll be getting it by the 23rd unless Daz holds it back. Make some more future vehicles please!

    Man, if you're not making a living as a critic or something related to writing, you definitely could be. It's comments like this that make being an artist worth the hassle! And you are really seeing and mentioning all the things I was trying to pull off. I can't thank you enough.

    For those that are wondering, my current plan (if I can swing it, and order YTBD) is to create a pose set for this, possibly a rider outfit with helmet, Bot Genesis for Genesis 3, and maybe a futuristic car with similar principles incorporated.

    I appreciated the comprehensive promos. There is a lot of detail in this model and many options. The promo clearly show the potential. An instant buy for me.

    Hey there! Sorry about the OT, but I was wondering if there is a way to use the individual Macro Eyes components independently of each other. I'd like to use the Macro Eyes lacrimals and eyelashes with different sclera and irises. Thanks

    No problem. Certainly. I would say the best way would be to apply the Macro Eyes presets that you want first. Then do the following (see image attached for the visual version of steps):

    1. On the Surfaces tab, select the surface that you want to apply the different preset to ( for Cornea & Sclera I use identical surface settings so the transition is soft and seamless [hold down CTRL when you select the second one to have both selected]).

    2. Hold down CTRL when you double click the different Material Preset you want to apply.

    3. In the Material Preset Load Options dialog, change the Surface dropdown to Selected, let images remain as Replace, and hit Accept.

    4. Now that your different surface material has been applied, the mask that makes the soft transition will be gone. So you may want to use my Refraction settings and reload the mask into Refaction Weight. You should find it at "My Library/Runtime/Textures/Parris/P_G3F_CorneaSclera_RefrMsk.png" or something like that.

    For the Irises and other stuff, you should only need to do steps 1 through 3.

    Yes, I'm afraid you are right about the sales for BotMoto. It doesn't mean that I won't make the addons I planned. It just means I can't right now. I'm told that SciFi Motorcycles are a niche. It's probably not a problem for someone who is very fast. But I nitpick over everything and as of yet cannot afford some of the tools that others have. But I will get there. Still I fill bad that some folks may be dissapointed. Thank you for asking about it in such a nice way.

    Xyer0, thank you again for the encouragement. And yes, thankfully, Macro Eyes is doing well. I'm glad that the details matter to you and that you can see them in my work. I'm working at ways that I can be more efficient rather than compromise on the details because doing so would be in opposition to what I'm after. I'm driven by the notion that what I do could mean something to someone else. If you use Daz Studio for fun, and what I make takes part in that then I'm fufilled. You probably need more fun in your life! If something I make helps you to bring your imagination into physical form and recognise your own potential for creativity, man that is awsome! That's what I believe in. That's what drives me. If I just wanted to make money, there are a lot of easier ways to do it.

    Now I'm about to get all "Chatty Cathy" here, so forgive me in advance. But I've just been reading a book that has a strong message that applies to what I'm saying here (not nessesarily for Xyer0, but for anyone). The book is called Mindset (by Carol S. Dweck) and the basic concept is that we often think about Talent in a way that defeats us: If we've been told that we are talented then we may be paralized by the fear that we cannot live up to our potential. If we believe that we don't have a "natural gift", we believe that we can never be a great artist (or great anything in the book). The book is a short read and it's helping me a lot right now, so I just had to share it. But if you're not a reader, then I just want to say this to anyone here struggling with self worth about their creations:

    If you believe that I am more talented, or smarter than you because I seem to understand DAZ Studio better than you do, kill that thought because it's simply not true. Talent is a blessing but it's not an accurate measure of potential. Hard work, the right teacher (or the right method of learning), and believing in yourself (which will come as you progress), are far more potent. It's not all sunshine and roses, but the good news here is that we are all capable of more than we've thought possible in perhaps a very long time. There, I'm off my soap box. I wish you all well!

    Here is the fun I had after you released BotMoto.

    Spread the word, Parris! "Desire is the only thing necessary for fulfillment." Uncover/discover your heart, and you find a flame that needs no fanning. This fire will burn away the nonessentials (don't cry; rejoice!) and the ignorance called frustration. Human life is a wish-fulfillment machine. There is a price to be paid for whatever we want. Those who do not fulfill their desires may be wise (wise, because some/most desires are better left unfulfilled) or they complain that the price is too high (ignorance) or they blame someone/thing else for their unwillingness to pay the price (self-deception). But at physical birth, we were ALL/each given the price of admission to our truest human life. When things get tough: Take a nap/reboot. Never give up!

    Agreed. Glad someone posted an F-15 picture to debunk that! Plenty of planes like that, out there, with missiles close to the air intakes. It's the same for bullets: The projectile's momentum is its own speed plus that of the launching platform.

    As for those who are modelling energy weapons, they don't even necessarily require a barrel. CCTV cameras can be as simplistic as a slightly raised dome, hiding the optical camera within and there's no reason a futuristic laser weapon might not be similar. Particle beams, coil guns and rail guns (there are important differences) might benefit from barrels, of course. Stuff like microwave weapons are different... And in today's world, a form of radar called AESA allows aircraft like the F-22 and F-35 to 'soft-kill' enemy electronics (such as radar dishes and even individual missile seeker heads) by remotely disabling them, without firing any physical missiles.

    Modellers of ground vehicles also need to be aware of developments like CROWS. There's a great new tank in the store, but it only has a manned machine gun, whereas CROWS allows a machine gun to be remotely controlled from inside of the turret, for tanks, APCs and things like Humvees, these days. An absence of stuff like this can have the unfortunate effect of ageing a CGI model more than the modeller probably intends to! :)
