OUT OF MEMORY?

Got the message OUT OF MEMORY while importing an FBX character from daz3d through the 3dxchange 6 pipline. My rig has 64GB ram, 8-i7GPU's, a GForce 780 video card and 2-2TB harddrives, what is the problem and how can I fix it?

I'm not familiar with the 3dxchange 6 pipeline, so I can't help you there, but I think your stated specs have a typo: "8-i7GPU's". Do you mean that you have an I7 CPU with 8 cores? The GPU would be your video card.

I'm not sure but it could be there isn't a segment of continuous ram for the transfer. I seem to recall that even the ram can get fragmented and cleaning it might help.
Is not 3DXchange a 32-bit application? If so, you can add memory to your system until the cows come home, but it won't have an effect. I understand that there is a patch available that will max the memory access for it, but that still limits you to somewhere south of 4 GB.

Thanks, Kerya. I have used it with Bryce and Hexagon but forgot that it was kind of one utility to rule them all for 32-bit apps.
