Is the latest version of DAZ Studio 4.9.2.70 iRay rendering changed?

Is the latest version of DAZ Studio 4.9.2.70 iRay rendering changed? Because last time when I used DAZ Studio in late winter the Genesis 3 iRay textures renders with HDRI textures even in broad cloudless daylight would give flat iRay renders. However, now I am doing an iRay render and it looks very good, much more natural than before, and I haven't to dork with the iRay settings or such things like I did a while back. I'll want to retest the characters that gave me problems then. :-)

There was a change to some of the SSS functions from 4.8 to 4.9.

No, maybe it's the difference in characters then. The Killian texture set is working how I thought PBR / iRay was supposed to work all along. I guess I need to load the iRay texture sets from DAZ 3D for the characters I was trying out in April and see how the look with the latest DAZ Studio. No it makes me wonder if maybe I didn't have the proper iRay texture sets loaded for those characters back then. At any rate, if the Genesis 3 iRay texture sets from DAZ 3D all work like it for Killian then that is very good and very easy.

Thanks very much. It's the different Genesis 3 iRay texture sets, some are better for iRay, well for what I was expecting from iRay.

Basically, the Girl 7, the Guy 7 and those semi-toon styles apparently were made to sort of be a bit static in their reaction to lighting changes with regards to human skin properties and so the changes in iRay lighting were having no effects like you'd think it should. So it's nice to have that sorted.
