Is there a list of locations for content?

I seem to find the single most frustrating part of Daz 4.9 not to be using the program but installing content.

I installed one and that worked. The I tried another. It came with a LOT of .exe installers. I ran a handful so far but they are not showing up in my library. The instlation runs okay and it says it is creating uninstallers but I cannot find any of those either.  I looked in all the places they should be?

I'm thinking of just removing EVERYTHING, cleaning registry and starting over.

Some 3rd party work but only if I find all the bits and pieces and manually move them around to locations similar to working content.  That has been hit or miss.

 

Is there an actual DIRECTORY structure showing where each kind of file must be placed to show up in library?  I may resort to unzipping and then manually dragging files to those directories since the "automatic" method seems to fail so miserably at installing content.

I also find confusing that they want to install in various places.  [program directory]/content,  c:\user\public\documents\My Daz 3D Content\

One would think the developers would get the installation process right so we dont see so many many posts about content instlation problems here and elsewhere.

Why can't we just download a package and place it somewhere and be done with it?
