No ContentCluster Folder In My AppData CMS Folder

I have a virgin Windows 10 install of DIM that fails to run PostgreSQL.

It appears that the DIM install that I downloaded fails to install /ContentCluster and whatever is inside it.

Is there any way I can totally strip EVERYTHING related to DAZ off my computer?

I want to try a clean install again, but all sorts of settings appear to be retained, probably in the Windows registry and surviving fragments of previous DIM install attempts.

The ContentCluster folder is created by Daz Studio or Install Manager upon launch; this assumes that PostgreSQL is installed and that the cms folder permissions are NOT set such that the current (machine) user has insufficient privileges to perform the operation.

(Part of the answer somehow got deleted; the above is the part that should have preceeded the note below.)

Note: DO NOT CONFUSE THIS TO MEAN THAT A USER SHOULD EVER "RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR"; a user should never use "Run as administrator" on any application that connects to the PostgreSQL CMS.

Chris, I'm going to assume you meant to suggest I try installing with the "Run As Administrator" option when I start the DIM installation file.

I'm aware of some of the concerns, and familiar with the option.

Tried that after my second or third failure and there was still no PostgreSQL database installed.

Have any Windows 10 users succeeded in a clean install of the CMS PostgreSQL database?

Found a solution that works for me.

I used DIM to download PostgreSQL and used DIM to install the database.

    That fixed my database issue.

Does this mean DIM does not install PostgreSQL as part of the DIM initial install?

    Just curious.

No. Do NOT "Run as administrator." Windows 10 runs/installs Install Manager and Daz Studio just fine; 3 of the machines that someone at Daz are running are on Windows 10.

Install Manager does not currently automatically install the PostgreSQL CMS as part of its own install; the existence of the PostgreSQL CMS causes the applications that communicate with the content database to prefer it over the Valentina DB based CMS, which can cause immediate problems for a user that hasn't intentionally made the switch to PostgreSQL yet. Daz Studio 4.9 no longer supports use of the Valentina DB based CMS, but Install Manager and Carrara still do.
