...Very beautiful render! And great model too!

You know that you can use a mask for eyebrows!

How did you do that mask for eyebrows. Could you please explain more about it.

With any photo editor just open diffuse map, whiten eyebrows areas, save as edited diffuse map and replace it with the old in top coat bump.

Ok, thanks for the explanation, Dimension-Z.

Somebody posted a Danae figure ealier, and I remembered I have Danae's Dublin!

Daz 4.8, Dublin converted to Genesis 2. This also brings up another strong point, the light reflection in the eye is good. In Iray Smart Converter, it has an issue that is like "digital red eye."

NGS on the left, ISC on the right. This time NGS has a clear advantage, I didn't bother finishing the ISC render.

...so does Anagenessis 2 Revolution supercede Anagenessis for Genesis 3 as it works on all Genesis generations?  I already use the mapless settings of Beautiful Skins for G3F as I have several other Gen7 figures but not V7 ( (believe it or not)..

...or, does Anagenessis for Genesis 3 go slightly beyond as I notice there are more option settings available.

On a tight budget so need to get the most usefulness out of the Zlotys I spend

I've been having a blast testing these out.  Since they're skin shaders, the majority of the tests would violate the forum standards but here's a cropped closeup out of a nice one I did with Redz' Aliyah...

Wow, that's a pretty amazing result! Did you do anything extra to the mouth/teeth or is that straight from NGS?

  • ArtiniArtini Posts: 9,458

Thanks, pds. This is just straight from NGS II - nothing more.

I wanted to try NGSA2 on something with extreme makeup. Out of the box, 2 spotlights; one semi cool, the other warm. Dimension Theory hdri, sunset. Pretty happy with almost all results so far. Sometimes the skin seems a bit rough, bumpy or mudy, but I'm sure some optimization will solve that.

Great work, Rob! It looks as though NGS2 is capable of bringing another level of "realism" to even the most exotic characters! I've noticed that eyes and mouths/teeth really seem to benefit quite a bit, which is fantastic because so often those areas are the biggest giveaways and least compelling.

I've only just started playing with the shader, so there's plenty that could be done to enhance the attached image, but considering my workflow consisted of:

    1. Add GoGo character for Mei Lin 6 to scene (just a random grab of a G2F character)
    2. Run NGS script for G2
    3. Run NGS script for Pores High Level (I was curious, but think I'd use a less aggressive setting, at least for this character)
    4. Run NGS script for Lips Gloss Female
    5. Drop in a light rig from the Ultra Genesis product (UG Standing Rig 004 + Env 006)
    6. Click render

I'm amazed at how it all turned out and can't wait to delve deeper, both into the product and the characters in my runtime.

...these examples (particularly the normal human ones) look rally fantastic.  I am hoping one of these products will be the answer to the "rubber doll" issue I am dealing with.

Thanks. =) The honors must go to Dimension-z however. Yeah, I've noted it does it's job well on regular skin, I knew that, so the next question was how would it do with exotic skins (as u said), and extreme makeups, etc. Your Mei Lin 6 looks cool too.
Gonna go experiment some more. =)

    Note Updated:
With any photo editor just open diffuse map, whiten eyebrows areas,
save as edited diffuse map and replace it with the old diffuse map in Top Coat Bump. (you can do the same for moles)

You can still use the old bump map on Top Coat bump that has already mask on eyebrows.
Diffuse and Bump react the same on Top Coat Bump.
Top Coat Bump is like a Varnish.
Dont be afraid to use any color or gray map in it.

except for losing the browns into darker...
fixes what iray did to my characters..

note it did this without being able to find the victoria 7 dsf...  apparently she's not in base bundle...
    ---
but there must be a way to turn off the happy rendering window?
already seen in twenty times ... nineteen times too many...

    Greetings,

Out of curiosity, is there any chance I can see how it looks on a younger character's skin/face, like Skyler or Zev0's Growing Up skin?

I'm mostly concerned that it seems to pull out details that aren't typically there in younger characters.  It does an interesting job on the SSS or something related for what I've seen, and other aspects (and the effect of it on Danae's converted skins is nothing short of amazing), and I'm really, really tempted, but I'm still on the fence.

I took another stab at this scene that I had posted before. This time I am using Anagenesis shader by Dimension Z.

I am mighty impressed with the results. I rendered this image quite big. There are are a few fireflies hanging around, you can seen them around his beard and some of the darker areas. I tried to murder those fireflies with NikTools, oh well.

Anyway, thank you Dimension-Z for this amazing shader! :D

I've been testing N.G.S. on a bunch of G2F FW skins, and I'm getting (some) lacrimals that are grey to greenish. I change the Glossy Color, but I can't get rid of the grey/green in the larger part of the lacrimal. Help?

Is the diffuse map grey/green or... pink? (dont post any texture map, just answer me)

If so then you can play more with glossy color or reflectance tint together. less cyan (or yellow) on both of these color values.

The maps are pinkish, but they render darker and more grey. Is there another surface other than Lacrimal that I should change? Thanks.

Do you have problem with any other surface? If no then edit only Lacrimals.

I can't thank Dimention-Z enough for this product - the best thing to hit the market since Iray. Just starting experimenting  with it but I'm amazed how it injects life into skins that previously looked flat. A total game changer.

Its all about color value, nothing else (glossy color or reflectance tint)

  • Hi, I just bought your N.G.S. Anagenessis II (very excited by the way, awesome work ;) but I am interested in it's merchant resource potential. I tried to find a read me file indicating guidelines about this but to no avail...is there any read me file included within the product folders? If not, how am I allowed to use this shader as a merchant resource? Because it's a preset, if I make my skin textures with it to include in my character packs to sell on daz marketplace, would it be working on the buyers end?

Thanks for your time and for providing such great products

As a Merchant Resource you can use it to aid in creating products, but anything you use should be changed to the point that it doesn't prevent or discourage the purchase of N.G.S.2

    P.S.

For textures: The only maps you have to change for buyers end is micro.

    Hope that clarifies.

    Thnx a lot

If I'm understanding correctly Dimension-Z's previous response on the question - You make your character, use the script to get the correct values set (it still uses Iray Uber shader) adjust as desired for your specific skin, then save it as a regular material preset.  Do the same with your makeups, eyes, etc.  That way the end user still needs to buy the Anagenesis 2 stript if they want to have other characters be super pretty but yours will be super pretty out of the box.

Please correct me if I got anything wrong there, Dimension-Z

Exactly. Except the micro gray map. That's all! The point is you can't use it as it is!

Anyway I don't think 30$ for now, are too much to apply this shader in any model you want, instead of copy-paste maps everytime want to use it and in every surface!

I'm a very lazy guy, that's why I made this.

    Thnx for your help
