  • DZ, LOVE NGS2!  I use it on everything.  It's really nice to have a tool that works across the various generations.  It even works well with G8.

One suggestion for possible addons - How about some color shift settings, like a range of 10 shades from warm to cool (the settings could be labeled according to race approximation or geography...i.e. Irish light or British Isles), and a range of skin light and dark values (blue black African to white pink Scandinavian) to instantly correct or change skin tone?  Call it "NGS2 World of Color" or something similar.  It would be awesome to instantly change a skin tone from Irish pink to Ivory Coast black.  It would also make it simple to correct the color shift on custom models that are slightly outside of the standard range of the shader.  This would just mean that I don't have to spend time going back and forth changing colors in the SSS and Gloss to get a decent skin tone.

Just a thought....I'd definitly be interested in buying that sort of addon.

Please forgive what might be a totally moronic question but today is my first day in Daz and I just bought your awesome skin shader pack. I just noticed (unfortunately after my purchase) that the concept here is that it's all driven by a single diffuse texture. Does this mean I won't have a bump map to export or is that a dumb question? I want to take into Cinema 4D and Houdini to use with Octane or Arnold render so I'm hoping I can get either a bumb, normal or displacement for the pores so I can affect them with with my own light sources.

Again - apologies for the total n00b question!

Great product by the way! You really nailed the way the dermis naturally come through the skin!

    Thanks :)

If you are not rendering in Daz Studio, I doubt this product will be much use for you since it is designed for IRAY in Daz Studio

Here's a question: awhile back Dimension-Z was finished, or at least darn close to finished, with NGS 3. I don't know if the introduction of V8 threw him off, or if the powers-what-am decided to delay it for some reason, I just want to know if it's coming out or not?

Does this work with Genesis 8 female?

    Yep, I just tested it:

Just use the Genesis 3 settings and it works fine for Genesis 8.

    I can confirm this.

Additionally, it also works with the golden palace genitals from that other site. Just apply NGS2 first, then add golden palace.

Well, the big question is whether I can include the noise map that's critical to much of it. I THINK I've seen other products with it, so just wondering what the protocol is.

Just make your own noise map, it's stupid easy.

I replaced the "Micros" map with a Noise map I made and didn't see a difference at all. You're welcome to use the noise map I made. You can download it here: http://sta.sh/02dml67xp0r3

Thanks, I can make one easily, but the gift of 'it works, I've tried it' keeps on giving. :)

TRUTH there.  My homemade map and the one that comes with the product are practically identical.  LOL

Create a dark slate map, add in noise, blur it, add in more noise, blur that and then add in more noise.  Then go to your Levels and bring in more dark and more light to make it a bit more bumpy or don't.  I tried that last bit and didn't like how it played on the skin in a render but in case you like your skin to look more bumpy that's the last part I figured out.

Of course DAZ forums messed that up royally, ONE it's been resized and TWO it's a mess when I looked at it just now but that's the idea.......

Does it not work for you?

Sure, I just hadn't thought of doing that.

OK, it's been a long long while since I had anytime to render. What parameter controlls the glossiness? I applied NGS2 to one of my G8 girls, and it looks like I slathered her in baby oil lol.

Whoa. That doesn't look like Anagenessis that I've seen. Are you also using the new Iray Duel Lobe settings? That might be causing the issue.

You might try reloading the character and reapply the mats and the Anagenessis shader.

You might have applied lip gloss settings.

I suspect you want to drop Top Coat Glossiness to .7 or so

Yeah, turning dual lobe weighting down to 0 does seem to help lol.

Maybe i'ts a very dumb question, but... since I cannot really see much difference, I'm a bit confused about the pores settings. Is "pores high level" ment for close ups or for distance shots? Thanks! :-)

@Dimension-Z are there any plans to incorporate the freebie script into the main product? I still can't get it to work... I'm using Daz Connect...so maybe that's causing issues?

I've add the script (following the instructions) to both the data/cloud/... folder as well as to the location it would be if installed via DIM. No matter what I do the "manual apply" script never appears.

Do I need to reinstall Anagensis via DIM and then add the files?

Anagenesis is a huge part of why I enjoy rendering in Daz these days. I'd love for it to apply to all that things. :)

    Thanks!

@Overdrawn, if you followed the freebie script instructions and placed it in "My DAZ 3D Library" then you won't find it in the smart content inside DAZ. You'll find it Content Library > My Daz 3D Library > Shader Presets > N.G.S. Anagenessis II > Manual Apply

Ah. Gotcha. I'd been looking in the Products section of the Content Library. Sounds like I was close! Thanks!

No problem, I was confused at first as well. Just remember to add the "uber base" to whatever you're going to apply the freebie on if it's 3Delight (so apply the uber base before the freebie script). Otherwise, it'll render grey. :)

I'm so glad you brough this up! I was having the same problem with my character looking all shiny and stuff! Does it totally fix it?
