Poser 9 to Daz Studio 4.9

I've been using Poser 9 for awhile and I want to start using Daz Studio 4.9 because of the greater range of content available from the store. Is there a way I can still use my old Poser files and scenes in Daz Studio? How do I set up Daz Studio to be able to read and find the directories from Poser?

In DS, go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "Poser Formats" section, and add the path to the folder containing the "Runtime" folder.

  • Thank you. That doesn't seem to allow me to open up Poser scenes as they're all still grayed out when I go to "File>Open"

You can't open the Poser scenes, but you can load Poser figures, props, hair, etc.

  • Poser content is not opened, it is imported - File>Import. This is because it has to be converted, and can't simply be resaved to the same format.

  • Actually, the PZ3s have been load-able since DS's beta versions (pre- DS1).  As far as I can tell, DS has been using ("importing") Poser content (except Poser shaders and dynamics) all along.

  • Thanks all. I'll try to play around with things and let you know if I hit any more roadblocks. Appreciate the input!
