    Edited to add: oh, you mean the English muffin, bare bun shamelessly exposed! (Had to look up "crumpet" -- I keep confusing them with cookies, which aren't called cookies in the UK, nor crumpets, but biscuits.)

    No one wants biscuits here. Toast is so easily accessible it is hard to sell. Cookies, though, cookies sell like hotcakes.

    Oh no, another food reference! Others words for hotcakes include pancakes, flapjacks...

    What’s even worse is they have a pair of fried eggs on display.

    And that looks like an English muffin to me.

    Not sure if there is any cross over but over here talking about having fried eggs and muffins on display would get any schoolboy sniggering.
