How to use GrayScale maps to Create a terrain?

Is there a tutorial that explains how to import a grayscale map to create a terrain in Bryce7?
I searched the Bryce7 documentation, and online, but have not found one.
I have some very hi-res maps of Mars by Tuoumas Kankola that I want to use. I tried using the Terrain Editor,
but not successfully.
Thanks!

In the Terrain Editor, In the editing tools pane Elevation tab, click on the button to the left of "Picture" to browse to and load an image as a terrain. (Do NOT go to the pictures tab and use "paste" to load the image into the first two squares, it degrades the image and adds terraces.)
Also, verify you are actually using greyscale heightmaps (with each greyscale level between black and white representing elevation) and not trying to use a photo by accident.
I also think that the greyscale image has to be 16bit not the standard 8bit.
3dcal - as sriesh and Dave said. I have a video about stacking terrains, the illustrated transcript (with the link to the video at the end): https://horo.ch/docs/video/pdf/Transcript_StackingTerrains.pdf and if you're interested in using DEMs (digital elevation maps) from Earth, Moon or Mars, here's a helper document: https://horo.ch/docs/mine/pdf/3DEM-Terrains.pdf. Generally, Bryce Terrain Editor (TE) lets you import 16 bit integer TIFF and PNG files, hut also 8/24 bit BMP etc. but the height resolution is very coarse with 8 only bit gray (256 steps instead of 65,536). The colour maps from Tuomas Kankola can be used as material, but not as terrains for Bryce.
