Make Genesis 3's lighting look like 2's? And questions about using DAZ for posing reference.

The muscles don't look nearly as defined when you increase the bodybuilding slider. Is it possible to make its lighting or shader, whatever it's called, look just like Genesis 2?
Also, if I'm using DAZ exclusively for posing, what do you recommend me to buy? I'm guessing M7 and V7, but are there any add-ons that make the posing easier?, like to help me cross the characters arms. Preset poses don't interest me as much as I prefer more freedom but I guess I can use some presets and then tweak them.

Have you tried to increase the subdivision? Genesis 3 has fewer polygons and less definition because of that. If you want to spend money, this is recommended to get better details:
Presets are usually just time saving starting points from where you get to the position you want.
Increasing sud-division levels alone will not increase details it will in fact do just the opposite. This has nothing to do with lighting, the Genesis 3s have a simpler mesh than previous generations that does not follow the flow of muscles. To increase detail you either need to use HD morphs or fake the look with normal maps.
It does have something to do with lighting. The detail might be less in the new figures but I did something in the surfaces tab (I think) that lets me see more detail. I still would like to have the same lighting as the G2 figures. When you use smooth shader on G2, it's like a greyish metallic shader, G3 is super white and doesn't let you see any details. The texture shader also looks very flat in G3.
Are you using the 3DL render engine,. or Iray? The two behave very differently.
Also, if you switch from "Dome&Scene light seetting in Iray to Sun&Sky, you would get sunlight, and perhaps harsher shadows.
But the question is, why change to G3 if G2 gives you the desired results? Since you are using them for posing, it won't make much of a difference if you keep using G2.
