Autofitting
I have a lot of M4 & V4 clothing and I've looked and I'm but sure if I bought it or it comes free with DAZ Studio but I have an autofit plugin that is active in DAZ Studio 4.9.2.70. I think I bought it because I got 4 linteractive essons on how to use autofit - M4 to G2M, V4 to G2F, G to G2M, G to G2F but oddly in the 'Select a Lesson' in DAZ Studio the Lessons that I want to do tutorials for - M4 to G2M and V4 to G2F, do not show up as available to do.
OK, so I finally found the correct location to put M4 & V4 clothing on Genesis 2 characters but it doesn't work when I try to put that same clothing on a Genesis 3 character. Autofit instead ask what was the original figure the item was made for but only offers Unsupported, Genesis 2 Male or Genesis 3 Female as options when I try to put clothing on a Genesis 3 Male. It doesn't offer Michael 4 as an option. When I try to put the same clothing on Genesis 2 Male autofit gives me options of Upsupported, Michael 4, Genesis 2 Female, and Genesis.
I seems like I bought another product besides Wear Them All (which I have both in my shopping cart now) to handle this situation but maybe I am wrong because going through my sales receipts at DAZ 3D I can only find Autofit, Crossfit for Genesis 2, and Crossfit for Genesis 3. Is there another product besides those & Wear Them All.
So my question is, even though I plan to buy Wear Them All, is there another product that will successfully put M4 & V4 clothing on Genesis 3? Or is there a technique that works good (autofit sort of works when I choose Genesis 2 Female for the original source of the M4 except the arm sleeves are way wrong and elsewhere less wrong)?
Thanks.

Auto-Fit is built in to Studio now, do not install the old plug-in. Crossfit is another product altogether not a plug-in for Studio. Along with Wear Them All get Sickleyields templates.

Thanks.
So 4 more products I need to buy. This is adding up. :-(
Is there a way to once they clothing is autofitted to Genesis 3 to save it as Genesis 3 native clothing so that when Genesis 4 comes out I can autofit Genesis 3 clothing to Genesis 4 characters?
Thanks.
Autofit usually is working between next generations and towards the same generation opposite gender ( thou I believe its not for M4V4)
so you can autofit M4 stuff an genesis and other war round, genesis materials to g2 (m/f) and the other way round, and g2m to g3m; g2f to g3f and the other way round ( though I found way up seems to work better than way down). to fit M4 on g2m this product helps http://www.daz3d.com/michael-4-for-genesis-2-male.
You can use a trick to make it work on g3m: fit a g2 male to the g3 male and make it invisible, autofit the clothing to the g2m
Thanks.
Ah, the link you gave Michael 4 for G2M, that is the other autofit product I bought and I couldn't remember the name of it and well, you'll scene yourself I'm just how obscure and hidden products you've bought can be in the DAZ Content Library. I also bought a product Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female at about the same time but it is by another author. Or maybe those products are the reason I have an option in Autofit to go directly from M4/V4 to G2M/G2F? I want equivalent functionality for M4/V4 to G3M/G3F.
I just fitted M4 Urban Wear to Cory 6 and saved as a Wearable Preset and then tried the Wearable Preset on Genesis 3 Male but DAZ Studio crash dumped.
I will buy the Wear Them All and makes things easier. There is too much M4/V4 clothing that I like and can used.
However, once I have them fitted and working on Genesis 3 how do I save the clothing to now be Genesis 3 clothing? Or is that even possible, will the preset wind up being just a script that automating uses Wear Them All and opens the V4/M4 clothing rather than open a new Genesis 3 clothing created from the old V4/M4 clothing?
Thanks
Save it as a new Figure/Prop asset...that will create a new 'master' file for the item (new geometry files in the /data folder, etc).
Thanks, it's working a treat now - I just do V4|M4 to G2F|G2M and save as a Support Asset for G2F|G2M and then using those Support Assets on G3F|G3M and again save as Support Assets. Look really good too.
VERY USEFUL TRICK Linwelly, Thanks a lot !
I thought I'd add another tip I just figured out. These days, as the majority of PAs are only creating for G3M/G3F it sure would be nice to use some of them on G2M/G2F. Going from G3F -> G2F and G3M -> G2M is easy enough to do using autofit clone products.
Genesis 3 Female for Genesis 2 Female(s): http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-female-for-genesis-2-female-s
Genesis 3 Male for Genesis 2 Male(s): http://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-male-for-genesis-2-male-s
But what if you want to use something like a G3M hair on G2F? If you try this you'll notice there is no autofit clone available in the Auto-Fit dialog box for "Genesis 3 Male" in spite of having the autofit clone mentioned above. If you just select "Unsupported" it won't fit. Here's the technique I used to get a perfect fit using the G3M->G2M autofit clone product above (required).
1) Load a G2M actor.
2) Load the G3M hair piece onto G2M. The Auto-Fit dialog will pop-up and if you have the converter mentioned above you will see a "Genesis 3 Male" option under the What figure was the item originally designed for? drop down. Select it and select the appropriate item type.
3) The hair piece will now autofit to G2M.
4) Select the G2M actor in the Scene tab.
5) In an approprate place in your Content Libaray (I created a new base directory under "Daz Studio Formats" for these types of customizations) click on the "+" at bottom left corner. In the menu that pops-up select "Wearable(s) Preset...".
6) Give the preset an appropriate name designating the G2M version. In the dialog that pops up make sure the only item selected is your hair piece. If you don't see it it's because you didn't select your G2M actor in the Scene tab.
7) Click Accept.
8) You now have a preset for a correctly fitted G3M hair piece for G2M. You're almost done.
9) Load your G2F actor.
10) Load the G2M hair piece preset you just created onto your G2F actor.
11) The Auto-Fit dialog will pop-up and and you will see a "Genesis 2 Male" option under the What figure was the item originally designed for? drop down. Select it and select the appropriate item type.
12) Viola! The original G2M hair piece is now correctly fitted to your G2F character.
13) If you now repeat steps 4-7 for your G2F actor then you can save a wearables preset for the correctly fitted G2F version of the hair that you can quickly load on any G2F character in the future.
thanks
