Hi again, sorry it took me so long to get back on this. It was this comment with the linked image, which you mentioned had to be done car by car.

Beautiful! I was thinking of non-flat surfaces such as tops of umbrellas and bonnets of cars.

Yes, with some tinkering, this is definitely possible. You can also use it in tandum with sickles rigged water - i believe that has single splash effects. My one regret is that i have a pretty great method for covering cars in static droplets, like this, but unfortunately it has to be done on a car-by-car basis :(

OK i understand now, i'm afraid there's no cut and dry method to do this in daz right now without some serious programming. The method i was referring to required external 3d software and could only be done on a car by car basis. It's the same method allessandro used in is frog promo i believe, it's just blob meshing. You might have some luck with ultrascatter, although i assume it would scatter the inside of the car too? Not sure, but probably worth a shot. Fingers crossed that Daz 5 has some nifty new tools to take advantage of smiley

Thank you so much for responding. That's unfortunate, but on the positive side, I wondered how he did his frog. I've decided to go with the Ultrascatter method. I didn't realize it before, but there is actually some flexibility about which parts of an object it gets applied to, so with some tinkering I may get a good result. And thanks again for this tool.

Hi there - I know I'm kind of late to the party on this one, but I'm having a similar issue with HDRI's as mentioned a couple pages ago. The only way I was able to get around it was to switch to Infinite Sphere.

I finally got around to acquring this wonderful tool and just wanted to compliment you for producing such a flexible and marvelous package. The splashes are so subtle and yet perfect!!  THANKS for making this available.

Yes, either infinite sphere or turn off ground shadowing. I'm not sure why this happens, but it seems to be more apparent with strong directional lights within the HDRI.

I really appreciate how I can adjust the planes to tweak my renders. This was the first render I did with no post work whatsoever. I'm definitely going to buy your snow/ash system based on how beautifully this tool works. THANK YOU!!!

Thank you very much, it's one of my more popular sets and i'm glad people like it. I actually have a follow-up set called Iray Storm coming to the store soon, which features stronger/angled rain, lightning etc. You can see a few previews here, here and here.

Wonderful render btw, great composition smiley

Awesome render Robert, well done. Compositing with water can be tough, but this came out great. Thanks for posting it here yes

I'm glad you like it.  I think images like these can help people decide if they want to buy a product.  If I like something, I'll help promote it.
