Is it just me or is Firefox having issues with the site lately?

...so it is an issue solely related to Waterfox then? Had me a bit concerned as when it comes to how all this networking stuff is set up today, I'm still a bit lost.

I'm from the "bear skin and stone knife" era of programming.

No, I think the same plugin works in Firefox, wish I could remember the name.

Mike are you able to" fix my PC" please? Any suggestions?
I am beyond annoyed about all this. . .
    LOL !!!

Can you post a list of your installed plugins?

I have the usual Shockwave, reader 11, flashplayer
    Suspect - unsure of. . . . .
    VDownloaderinstallerIC,
    epm
    FreeYouTubeDownloaderInstallerIC
In my downloads I also found:
    64 (folder)
    INFUpdate (folder)

Well I think I have solved it all
I downloaded and installed both Adblock and Noscript
Adblock did not fix it but Noscript has worked
HOWEVER, when I tried to reply here, I could not link until I unblocked "Temporarily" Noscript for Daz
I hope this addin does not "add in" any more problems but there were no incidents on the pages I looked at.

Kyoto Kid - This is the snip of the original post

...that's creepy. Went back, hovered over the same word and found no link there at all.

One would think Mozilla would be above this kind of rubbish. I would consider that an invasion of privacy, but then I come from the ancient days when an unlisted phone number meant exactly that. Now with all this cracking software out there it isn't worth the extra service charge.

This kind of thing brings me back to my character Leela and her child like outlook: "What is there to gain by hurting others?"

I'm not actually running noscript, but, I did get rid of whatever it was that caused it. We still need to see full lists of everything you have, so that we can remember what it was and so others can be aware of it and avoid it.

Rogerbee - the only things that I could find were:

    VDownloaderinstallerIC, - (I removed)
epm - unsure what this is but it appears innocent
FreeYouTubeDownloaderInstallerIC - still there and safe (I think)

However, I found that when I installed the "Noscript", it barred ALL scripts and then I have to manually allow whatever is needed in order to see various pages That is quite a nuisance at times.. You can set it allow always or for this time only as needed.
I do wonder what they will think of next to "get you"
    "There's wolves out there"
My computer (Windows 8) is so new and I thought innocent. . . and this was never a problem with my other windows 7 machine

    Ok,

Try turning Noscript off now and see what happens, if you still get the pop-up's then it wasn't that add-on you needed to get rid of.

I think this is could be some sneaky site has added some tracking cookies when you accidently clicked on something when visiting a site.

How to Delete Targeted Advertising From Google

    Instructions

1 Access Google's "Ads Preferences" page at www.google.com/ads/preferences.
2 Click the "Opt out" button in the middle of the page to stop Google's advertising partners from assigning the "DoubleClick" cookie that tracks your browsing.

    Thanks for that
I have had no end of issues with adblock and/or noscript wrecking every page I look at.
I will have to uninstall as it is too hard to turn on and off in every page. Have not tried to uninstall yet and hoping for some good advice ;)
I had never realised how many different scripts run on web pages. Without java for example it is really awkward
Some advice from those who know would be most gratefully received!!!

...even with my new improved connectivity (as of last night) I think I'll just keep good ol' 32 bit FF on the workstation for now. Really do not care to go through all this myself after finally leaving the frustration of my former poor connectivity issues behind.

Sounds like upgrading to WF doesn't preserve anything you originally had in FF so you have to build everything from scratch again. No thank you.

At least FF updates keep all my addon and plugin settings intact.
