Long Straight Bangs?

Hello!
Requesting a hair style similar to this for Genesis 2 or 3, with importance placed upon the bangs and ponytail.

The Daz Store has several ponytail styles, hair pulled back, parted to the side, parted in the middle, long tails, etc... but they always get the bangs wrong.   Looking for something that has long straight bangs, with a straight sporty ponytail.

Closest I can think of is this one for Genesis 1:  http://www.daz3d.com/pure-hair-timeless

Thanks, those are close, but in both of those cases, the ponytail sticks up at an angle.  And the bangs appear too short. If you notice, the sporty pontail sticks straight out with no angle, which is why I think they call it sporty.

So, I guess I should modify my request, and place emphasize on both the bangs and the ponytail.  Requesting a sporty ponytail with straight long bangs, similar to the posted picture.

Before you give up on any hair, look at what morphs it has...

  • I second this. I have been looking for the same. I would buy it!

Samurle, thanks for posting this request. I would also love to see a hair figure as shown in your images. Several posters have tried helpfully to post suggestions of alternatives but they differ considerably from what you have asked for. Stick to your guns! Long straight bangs (or fringe) look really great, but they must look like they are part of the hair (as in your images) and not added later as an after thought. The tails should also be straight (as shown). Perhaps a curl or twist to the tail could be added as a morph. Change of tail length would also be a very useful morph.

I would add that the ponytail should have bones so that it can be posed with the figure in any position, even hanging upside down. I have bought a great many hair figures and too many of them use morphs to move the tail. These morphs work well for small movements but not for positions where the head is not straight up. Moreover the morphs meant to move the tail often distort the tail in length or shape quite badly. So, PAs please note... include bones not just morphs.

One further comment on the tail. It would be great to have the option of one ponytail at the back (possibly with the option of making it slightly to one side to give an asymetric look), and two tails, one at each side of the head, in other words pigtails. However I don't know if it would be possible to make side tails meld with a scalp hair mesh which was made for a ponytail in a way that still looks natural and realistic. Perhaps two hair figures would be required, one for a single ponytail and one for twin pigtails (both straight).

I would pay a lot for hair pieces with such features.

BTW, you probably already know of "Chiva Hair" by OutOfTouch and Bice for V4 which comes quite close to your pictures. However, I agree that it would be great to have a hair made especially for Genesis 3 with all the latest technological advances and great textures.

Well, if OutOfTouch did this hair style in the past, then perhaps it's time for a modern day update.
The sporty ponytail style looks great.  It just needs bangs.

PropsChick just released a hair at Rendo for G2F and G3F almost exactly like what you want.

Hi Fisty, I agree that the Perfect Ponytail is quite close to the style that samurle has shown, but again not quite the same. The strange ridge across the forehead is something that does not appear in samurle's example pic.

However, it may be close enough.

Still, it would be nice to see a hair figure with the same styling as samurle's image.

Yeah, the bangs in the example are cut like a triangle rather than straight across, it's still very close though.  I prefer the example too, it looks softer somehow.

The bangs as worn by Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) start from the top or crown of the head and fall straight down from there, where as the bangs in the Perfect Pony start from the forehead hairline. I think this is the difference which makes the Emma Stone style look so much better (more natural). The same is true for the hair styles showed in the pics I posted earlier.

Take a look at "Topmodel Updo Hair and OOT Hairblending 2.0 for Genesis 3 Female(s)" by Outoftouch.

This is an extremely versatile Hair figure; my hat off to Outoftouch, well done Sir. As shown in the attached image, one of the versions of this Hair is pretty much a perfect match for samurle's original request.

Thanks, I just noticed it.  I think they did a superb job on it.  Kudos to OOT!

  • Chiva Hair is something I've used for awhile. It's exactly what you are looking for...Downside is that it only works with Victoria 4...I've tried to adapt it to Genesis with only limited luck on Genesis 3...it can be done, though.
