Projection issues with Auto-fit clothing

I've noticed with clothing like swimsuits etc. that are autofit - particularly from G2F to G3F that in poses the crotch arae distorts - it seems as if the crotch area is projecting to the inner thigh so during leg bends I see artifacts and shearing. Is there a way to fix this - preferbaly to exclude the legs from the projection?

  • You can edit the weight maps after the conversion to remove (or reduce) the thigh influences. There are videos on weight-editing in Daz' You Tube channel

  • Thanks Richard. I delered the Left & Right Thigh Bend general weight map. But I still see a few polygons moving when the leg bends -  not sure why...

  • They may be being projected from the correction morphs driven by the bends on the main figure - enable the display of hidden properties, from the parameters pane option menu, and then with only the bend of one leg applied look at the Currently Used group in Parameters.

  • Hi Richard, when I do that for the Figures Right Thigh with side to side active I see these:

    CTRLMD_N_ZRotate_n50 with sub component

                     ERC [Multiply] > Genesis 3 Female:Groin Detail R

    CTRLMD_N_ZRotate_n70 with sub component

                     ERC [Multiply] > Genesis 3 Female:pJCMkhV7rThighBnd-85SideS-70

    CTRLMD_N_ZRotate_n85 with sub component

                     ERC [Add] > Genesis 3 Female:RThigh Top Flatten 2

                     ERC [Multiply] > Genesis 3 Female:RThigh BendSideSide

                     ERC [Multiply] > Genesis 3 Female:Hip Expand R & Leg S2S

when I select the Garment Right Thigh scope I don't see anything - so I'm not sure what this means...

  • The item is fitted to the base figure when you are looking, you aren't bending it in isolation?

  • Correct. Only bending figure not the garment controls

  • OK, I expected the morphs to appear in the clothing. Anyway, you can try manually zeroing them on the base figure and see which (if any) is affecting the shape of the clothing in an undesirable way.

  • But is there some way to exclude the clothing from them?

  • Only by creating new parameters with the same name as the moprh - then DS will see that and not auto-generate its own. The issue there is of course that you don't know what future JCMs may be added.
