[solved] No Collada export option, DS 4.9.2.70 pro, Xubuntu 16.10, wine

Just updated my Linux(clean reinstall) to Xubuntu(Ubuntu) 16.10. Installed wine from the reposotory(1.8.5) And DAZ Studio pro, 32 bit, both 4.9.2.70 and 4.9.1.30. Neither installed version had an option to export as .dae. The only export options are .bvh, .cr2, .fbx, .obj, .u3d, .mdd. Running DS in a terminal doesn't give any errors that point me toward a solution. My previous Linux(Mint 17.3) with the same DS(4.9.2.70) exported correctly.

Here's the terminal output...

user@Lapbox:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4$ wine DAZStudio.exe err:winediag:xrandr12_init_modes Broken NVIDIA RandR detected, falling back to RandR 1.0. The top two errors are common wine, and were present before the upgrade. As I read it the PostgreSQL CMS tries to start and doesn't(which is common) and I'm guessing that the err:ole is OLE errors when it realizes the CMS isn't there. The S3Dmouse.dll doesn't sound like it's related.

Any ideas? Something isn't meshing and I don't know whether to fight with the Linux version, or wine. DS should work. It has before.

Thanks up front. :)

OK, I got it sorted. Moved the Linux to Mint 18, with wine 1.6.2. I'm fairly sure it was wine that was causing it.

Even when running the 32 bit version of Studio, I hadn't encountered that on my Slackware install, even with the 1.8 WINE builds.  But, then again I've been compiling my own WINE builds for quite some time, so it may be something with the Ubuntu packages, too.

Generally, I find Ubuntu to be an exercise in frustration...I like Mint much better (of course, I don't think either one is a 'nice' as good old Slack...).

I'm currently running 64-bit Studio in WINE 1.9.20 and it runs at least as, if not more, stable than it does on the Win7 machine I was using to do Iray on, before.

Thanks for the reply mjc1016. I don't follow up very well do I? I haven't played with Slackware since the days when it was the only choice. Ran RedHat when it was free, and then Fedora for a long time. Been on some kind of *buntu for ages, and just recently on Mint. Oh, and I can build a fairly capable Linux from Scratch machine, but quickly get tired of keeping it updated.

I'm happy with the the wine I got and my 32bit DS, since I don't think my GPU cuts mustard. It's a 9800M GS. It's got CUDA, but it's like one point release too early to be compatible with any sort of power tools.

    Have Fun!
