Legacy UVs for Genesis 3: Michael 4 & DAZ Studio 4.9.3.128 Public Beta

Legacy UVs for Genesis 3: Michael 4 & DAZ Studio 4.9.3.128 Public Beta

is broken but if I use DAZ Studio 4.9.2.70 Release it still works.

Something has changed. I didn't test yet however the equivalent for V4 to G3 but it is probably broken to.

I have just run the Legacy UVs for Genesis 3: Michael 4 in Public Beta 4.9.3.128 and it seems to work OK.  Could you be more specific about the problem you are having?

OK, I will have to make screen shots because all I am doing is following the three steps in your instructions. Maybe I messed up and used a Genesis texture set resaved as duf instead of an M4 texture set. Maybe I should buy that M4 batch texture converter and save myself mistakes.

  • Do you have the same content directory settings in both versions?

Yes. They are set up identical. Soon as I finish my render I will try re-opening M4 & saving the M4 textures of DUFs & then try to apply to G3M again.

OK, I went through & tried again with 4 different texture sets from M4 models in the latest Beta version from before.

    1. Open M4

    2. Apply M4 texture set

    3. Save M4 texture set as Material Preset .DUF

    4. Repeat for the other 3 model texture sets

    5. delete M4 from scene

    6. Open G3M

    7. Prepare G3M

    8. Apply Presets - M4 - Michael 4 - is weirdly applied

    9. Apply M4 UVs - Michael 4 textures now applied correctly except the texture set for the hips is wrong (seems to be hips for G3M not Michael 4)

    10. Repeat 8 & 9 for the other 3 M4 texture sets and they work, even the hip area. I did not test the M4 genital textures though but I am think they work too.

So, sorry, somehow I got DAZ Studio Public Beta in a garbled state earlier but now it works fine after I figure out this problem with the Michael 4 Hip texture being wrong. I will do that texture set again.

    +++++

So I loaded the Michael 4 duf texture set material preset I saved after loaded Michael 4 again and it loads correctly on the hips & everywhere. If I load the same duf on G3M with your product the everthing is correct but the hips. The hips are G3M texture I think. It doesn't matter if I use the Michael 4 texture set with shorts or naked except the one with shorts cause a thin line in the same texture as the shorts around the thighs of the G3M with the new DUF material preset file is applied. I can upload the 2 broken DUF if you like. They are both referencing the free M4 standard texture set.

  • Nonesuch, glad that you've got it working in the Beta.  It sounds like the problem you're having with the hip area is down to the fact that some of the standard textures for M4 are "partial" textures.  You might like to look at this post in the Commercial thread where the issue is addressed.

Thanks. I will do that procedure for that texture set.
