Crashes

I have an "okay" computer it's certainly all I can afford at the moment:

Windows 10

AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor, 3500 Mhz, 3 Core(s), 6 Logical Processor(s)

Installed Physical Memory (RAM)    8.00 GB

AMD Radeon R7 200 Series

I'm trying to render a scene (building interior, lighting, character, clothes, 2 luggage props), my camera is zoomed in on the character entering the front door (very little of the building is visible in this shot but will be later). I'm trying to render with the Iray selection and Daz3d crashes about a minute and a half into trying to render. How can I stop these crashes? I don't mind waiting a lot longer for renders to finish if they at least render.

Are there any error messages displayed when it crashes?

    What version of Studio?

And what does the log file say...Help > Troubleshooting > View Log and anything that relates to errors AFTER you've started the render (there may be a few 'errors' earlier in the log, but for the most part they are harmless informational messages).

The crash is probably happening on the 1st attempt to write to video render window and you run out of RAM.

I have much experience with such crashes. The video card you have is same as doing a CPU render. 8 GB RAM is generally not enough RAM to do a render, especially an iRay render, with all the elements you have in it at the resolution you have likely chosen.

Go for a SD or HD resolution instead of FHD or higher to stop the crashes. Or get 16GB RAM or more, although I still have to limit the size of my scenes with 16GB RAM too. No matter how much RAM you have it has a limit.
