Followed directions to render to canvas & after 24 hours got an 83K transparent .tif file...

...so I missed something..I choose .tif but I thought I was told earlier when you do a 'Beauty' canvas to choose .exr format but I don't see that option. I choose render directly to file.

I did however discover my camera I had in the scene was inadvertently deleted by me so maybe that was the problem. I added a camera back in the scene but I had to restart DAZ 3D to see something rendered again. This time I choose render to new window rather than render directly to file. Also, the beaty canvas is still active, where is the file it is supposed to create?

Also, I just saw, the iRay render even with 'Draw Dome' On with Sun-Sky Only & Infinite Sphere is not drawing the sky like it usually does? Is this because it's a 'canvas' and the 'Sun-Sky Only' is not selectable as something to render to canvas?

Thanks.

I will try another scene til then.

  • The file you save is a regular render, the .exr file(s) will be in a sub-folder with the same name as the render file.

OK, thanks. I will try again.

  • Hi, nonesuch. I just had the same thing happen (though thankfully it didn't take 24 hours!) but you're not likely to have made the same rookie mistake that I did. But in case it helps anyone else, I was doing a test render with only a horse and rider, no scene. I determined that my camera was beneath the ground plane and "Draw Ground" was On in my Render Settings. So the invisible ground plane was blacking my camera's view! D'oh!
