OutOfTouch Super Sleeky Hair length

I recently purchased this product from Daz store, and I wonder how to use the length options, some long hairs remain after choosing for exemple the "length D".

What am I doing wrong?

  • You have to apply the base material option first.  It's the one that says "Super Sleeky Hair !Apply First".  Then you choose the length and color options.

  • Thank you nightwolf for your answer!

Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. The problem happens on my two PCs, it's really strange...

  • At least I can render it once with hair, then once without hair, and use GIMP calcs to erase the remaining hair...

This happens for me if in error I use 3Delight shaders on this hair - It  works fine for me with the Iray shaders so check you are using the correct ones

  • Thanks Tottallou, I will try it!

This hair actually uses an unexpected method to change the length instead of morphs or scaling.  It actually swaps the UV sets to change the length.

For iray at least, you either need to use the "Shape" labeled settings in the Materials->Iray folder/category or pick the zones you want to change and swap from the Default UV set to one of the Length0N UV sets available.  I haven't tried the hair under 3DL, but expect it works similarly.

Its a clever way to solve some of the problems for hair like this, but it means the length will always be one of the four offered unless you make another UV set or add bones or morphs yourself.

  • Changing the UV set under 3delight doesn't work, it just gives you the same results as the OP.  I'm guessing that's why there aren't any length options in the 3delight folder.
