Saving Out a Bilinear Object

Is there a way to save out a bilinear object with soft edges and corners? I know you can do it with a catmarked one, but am needing to save out one with a bilinear setting. Please do note that I am a texture person not a modler, but any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
L.

You can export what you see on the screen, as an object. If you made it bilinear, with soft edges and corners, it should export that way. I assume you edited it with Daz's tools or property settings?
File->Export-> (Save it as an OBJ) {Wavefront obj} or {Autodesk FBX} or {Collada DAE}... depends what you want to use it for.
If you have hexagon, you can send it directly there to do some quick and dirty modeling.
Hummm........... I can export the object, but it doesn't save the settings. So, I'm not sure if you have to freeze them in there some way and then export it, but I know you don't have to do that with a SubD catmarked one. It's also crucial that the UV maps stay the same. I don't have Hexagon to export it into. Sort of need to fudge a bevled edge. I'm also just the texture peson on this project, but trying to move things along.
Just set it to the subdivision type you want and export...
Gold: Bilinear
Red: Catmark
Blue: Loop
Green: Catmull-Clark
All 4 were exported with Soft Corners and Edges.
Here is what I'm working with. The edges on the book and pages need to be beveled. So, I'm tryng to fudge a beveled edge on them using the bilinear setting. The only problem is when I export the image as a .obj and then import the image again it loads as the original.
The first image is SubD Catmark soft edges and corners the pages get all distorted the 2nd one is Bilinear Soft edges and corners level 2 and the pages look as I would like them to look. The only thing is that when exported it won't come back into the scene as it looks there. It reverts to the original. So, I'm not sure what can be done to fix the problem. Possibly memorize the prop and have it come in that way.
Again, I'm not the modeler in the project just the texture person.
The imported obj is a 'new' item, so there is no 'pass through' for what it's subdivision was when it was exported.
What you should be able to do, though, is set the subdivision type and level before you save it as prop/figure asset. Then it should preserve it. Also there would be no need to import/export it, either.
Ok sorry not a Props person, but how do you go about saving it as a prop/figure asset.
Thanks for the information btw!
Although, LOL I sooo want to press the red button and panic a little!! LOL sorry!
