Invisable opacity when two items have opacity

I need to know what setting I need to change to disable this. I have a top that has a opacity map on it for the texturing. When I use the top my hair is completly invisable if its in front of the top. That drives me completly bonkers. I've never been able to find a way to disable this useless feature. Can anyone help? Pay attention to the opacity of the Rune Coat in the images.

It's not a 'useless feature' and it is not something that can be disabled. It's a limitiation of OpenGL and has been around since sometime in the 1990s...and since the OpenGL group hasn't fixed it yet, it probably won't be.
So then my suspicions were right? I was thinking it was a glitch but didn't want to say it.
Yep. it's a glitch...or more like the OpenGL specification kind of left dealing with stacked opacity somewhere around 1996 and hasn't updated it since. And basically once DirectX hit the scene, there wasn't much call for it, anyway...
So I guess the only way to fix it is the turn the map off? Is there a way to copy a surface tab slider so I can keep it on the clipboard, Just one surface tab. Not the whole shader.
I hope they get around to fixing it one day.. I mean of all glitches that one is inavoidably annoying and obvious.
Thanks for the feedback. At least now I know I'm not alone.
