strange shadows

Every once in a while my characters will develop a strange shadow across the top of the forehead and the whites of their eyes will become grey. It seems to happens when I use outdoor scenes -- streets, houses, neighborhoods, buildings, etc. It does not show up in the editor and if I remove the proprs (streets, buildings, etc.) the strange shadows go away.

Has anyone else encountered this? If so, is there a way to correct the problem?

Which version of Studio and are you moving the character away from the 0,0,0 load position?

I had a similar problem with the the Girl 7 eyelashes because I had moved her many units away from 0,0,0 - the render wound up draw her eyelashes about an inch away and an inch down from actually being drawn on her eyelids. I didn't know how to fix except recenter her at (0,0,0)

That's a known problem in that version...it is fixed in the first beta (and presumably in the latest one).

A workaround is to leave the character 'centered' and move the environment/scene/set...

  • Thank you

I thought that DAZ automaticly upgraded itself. At least it did once before. How do I upgrade?

    It does not update itself...

And to upgrade you'll need to grab the beta (which may require a store 'purchase'...yeah, it's free, but it needs to be added to your account) or to waiit for the next release version, which shouldn't be that far away (hopefully).
