Implement NVidia Ansel in Daz

NVidia Ansel is described here: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/ansel
It creates a full 360 degree HDR screenshot in any game where it is implemented.
Could we get this technology implemented in Daz? It would be enormously helpful to those wanting to animate in Daz if we could create an HDR of any scene we want - and then use that virtual scene for our animation. Perhaps Daz could even render out an HDRI image of any scene we create this way?

Is this the same as baking the back ground for an animation, or is that something different?
Similar but more advanced. With Ansel you can create full 360 degree HDR images that you can apply to your render settings to create a custom 360 degree environment. This is technically possible now - but it takes 5 steps, three different tools, and a lot of hand work. Ansel could be a one click solution.
the beta has a spherical camera
you could render to exr
I don't know what you mean. Can you explain further?
a spherical camera renders a 360 view
its under lens type in the beta
if you render an equiretangular panonorama you can view it with a 360 VR device

In order to get STEREO 360 renders fairly easily all we need is for someone to develop the nVidia Ansel plugin for DAZ Studio. Hopefully some bright developer will do that.
or at least add the spherical view to opengl
old post, the spherical camera is in the release build now too so you can view DS in VR with iray in the viewport though laggy not stereo out the box though
you can have two viewports and parent another canera to the first a convergence distance apart thats even laggier!
Ansel images are still essentially an image from a rasterized video game. Daz3D focuses on ray tracing (and the slow, precise kind, not the video game kludge they're passing off as ray tracing to jack up prices) which is a totally different beast. It's like asking Pratt and Whitney to put a turbocharger on the F119 jet engine. (Hint, turbochargers are for reciprocating engines, not high performance turbines.)
The addition of a true Stereo 360 degree camera (such as found in Ansel) into DAZ Studio would be very useful for VR & AR projects as well as for creating backgrounds.
so what is wrong with he current spherical lens besides the fact it does not support openGL?
The spherical lens does work just fine right now. The problem is if you are trying to get true STEREO, currently no good solution available within DAZ for 360-stereo images.
