Install Manager

Aside from having to redownload something if I uninstall it, if i check 'delete package once installed,' will that free up storage space or anything special?

When you install with DIM it unzips the package and puts the contents where you told it to. If you click on 'delete package' it follows up by deleting the download file. So yes, it can free up quite a bit of storage given that some of the downloads now are in the 4 to 9 hundred megabyte range. The downside is that you will need to re-download if you decide to uninstall and then reinstall.

  • Personally I'd strongly recommend to make a backup of those packages before removing them. As Nam said: this allows you to re-install them in case something goes wrong or.. In case you need to do a re-install in the far future and Daz, for some reason, has stopped providing offline contents (read: you'd have to rely on Daz Connect). Note: I'm not implying that this is going to happen, but you can't rule it out either. And well, not everyone is very happy with Daz Connect.
