Iray Defaults - Can they be changed?

the 7200 second default is inadequate, I sometimes neglect to change it, which asts time.

It there a way to change it?

    Yes, in Render Settings, in the Editor tab under the Progressive Rendering group.

    Hello Richard,

    what I would like to do is to change the 7200 seconds figure that comes up automatically each time I start DS to a larger figure thatwould come up whenever I start DS, as I sometimes forget to chage it prior to rendering.

    Is that possible?

    1. Create a scene with any default lighting and the default render settings you want.

    2. Edit>Preferences>Scene >Render settings>Check box for Record RenderSettings when saving file

    3. Save your scene

    4 Go back to Edit>Preferences>Scene. Select "On new Load file" and select your default scene in the dropdown.

    No problem. There may be other ways, but this has worked for me. Do bear in mind that if you change one of the Iray defaults for a particular scene, then save that scene, the new setting will be in place when the scene is re-opened.
