Multiple issues with Overknee boots for G2
I'm finding that fitting the OverKnee Lace-up Boots for G2F (SKU:20444) to Genesis 3 female models is producing very weird results with the characters foot sticking out the top of the shoe. As an experiement I also tried fitting it as if it had come from a Victoria 4 model and the foot was matched corectly but the whole garment was displaced latterally slightly.
Would love to know if I'm doing something wrong and/or if the product can be ajusted to fit properly.
Also there appears to be missing metadata as the product comes with a pair of poses that are visible when viewing the product library but not visible in the smart content pane while selecting the item. I would have guessed it would work like the peep-toe heels which also have a fitting pose which is properly referenced/vissible in smart content.
Thanks for any help. Would love to be able to use this product! (with a minimum of muss and fuss :))

Example of the issue...
They may be intended to be used with the feet hidden (which makes them usable with most poses, without having to repose the feet), or they may have had shaping morphs for the original figure. I don't have the set so I can't say for sure.
On the genesis2 model the feet seem to still be present whie the boots are on. I tried to render a comparison. That's the G2 on the left, with the fitting pose applied to both models. As you can see, the fitting pose warp the boots further on the G3 rather than correcting it. For some reason everything from the upper ankle down is not matching.
I suspect there's a morph in there, though I may be wrong. In any event, I'm not sure how fixable it is.
As an interim while I continue to run it down, how do you "hide the feet"? :)
Select all their parts and click the visible button in the Parametrs pane, or for parts with fewer bones click the eye icon next to each in the Scene pane.
Neat! TY :)
This is still really weird. I've several other G2 shoes and they addapt to the G3 model just fine. I wonder WHY these done work?
Does the artist dx30 hang out here? They may have some insights... (or can be persuaded to create a G3 version, as they're appealing enough I'd re-buy them )
adding to the mystery I have the dx30's Flat boots 2 for Genesis 2 (SKU:21689) and applying those to G3F works perfectly (allowing I need to bunch in the big toe a little)...
Not sure where the overknee's went wrong.
High heels are problematic for Auto-Fit.
Thing is when you strart the auto fit, before defining what model they're from or what kind of item are, they "wrinkle up" around the feet properly. Which is to say they look really smooshed (exactly the way they look on a flat-footed G2F before applying the boot pose). But they ARE fitting the feet correctly so that the pose that comes with them would straighten everythig out. Its only after you define those parameters that things go crazy. I've tried various combinations and the closest fit is still claiming they are are for Victoria 4, but that offsets them laterally to the point of unusability.
Is there a way to ping dx30 to let them know this is happening?
There is no point in trying to conact dx30, the boots where made for G2F and work with G2F so they do want they where to made to do.
Sure, the boots do what they were made to do, but the ADAPTER doesn't... And contacting them to say "Hey, I'd buy a set made for G3F" hardly seems pointless :).
Woohoo! Problem 100% solved! (and learned several tricks along the way)

The pose that came with the boots was ~90% there, just needed to unbend the big toe and toes 1&2 slightly before "training" the boots. Needed to transfer rigging twice, as expected, but once they're trained you can move them from that GF3 to other GF3s and they continue to fit. Gonna save a trained pair to just merge into other scenes :).
Would still buy a native GF3 version. hint hint :).
