AV Art? What the hell is this?

Working of something I started a little while back I did a test render and uncovered this ;- (see image)

We pay for this stuff - why to we get advertising burned into a mat? Which matt? Not sure, like I say I started this work a few weeks back.

Viewed from another angle and its not visible, however this is not right.

That is the copyright notice of the peron who produced the mat, Sabby in this case.

Normally those are not visible in render. Check the UV settings of the figure and make sure they match those of the skin.

I think this was the FWSA Aiden HD for Michael 7 mat

I have a vague nebulous memory of this coming up earlier, but I can't bring it up on the forum.

Where on Aiden's body is the maker's mark appearing?

Where on the body is the logo appearing? Maybe a gens mat got accidentally applied to the torso with no gens on or something?

The mat looks fine, nothing in the wrong place.

Its on the right side of the body, under the arm, near the bottom of the ribcage.

There are other problems with the mat, under the chin and at the top of the right thigh.

Thats the right upper arm in view.

I have set the gloss high for a beach scene with sun oiled bodies, with a lower setting or viewed from other angles this is may not be visible, however thats not the point, it has spoiled my render.

The wrong supplemental map is plugged in. Looks like a limb spec map plugged the wrong spot? I have had it happen to me its def not a watermark check the surfaces on the torso make sure they are all torso textures, face textures, etc.

Silver, thank you, I believe that you are correct, having investigated I find that an arm Top Coat map had loaded where the torso Top Coat should be.

Another character, Titus, had two incorrect maps loaded.

Does anyone know how this could happen, or must I check this each time?

Yeah Silver is right, thats a top coat issue, and shouldnt be there. I just checked my Aiden copy and it's all fine, so will download the store version to check. I remember there was this exact issue with a character before, where basically when putting the textures into each node i messed one up, but i fixed that and updated the zip for daz, so it may be that this was Aiden and there is already an update for him, but will check either way.

  • ok, just checked the store zip of Aiden, and it's all working fine with all support maps in the right places. There are also legacy and 4.9+ studio files in there, so there were changes made to the zip. I dont recall doing them, so either Sabby did or Daz themselves. Either way may be worth updating the files you have with the latest ones as it should fix the issue. :)

If you have multiple surfaces selected and go into parameters to shut off limits, all the maps will be changed to the first surface's map.

There may be other quirks, but this one has bitten me often enough to notice.
