CPU Runaway Bug and Aspect Ratio Locked

WandererWanderer Posts: 957

So I'm re-installing Daz after the update because for no apparent reason my CPU keeps running off while working on a scene... any scene apparently. All of a sudden, it will get really really slow and I'll see my CPU running 100% for no reason that I can discern and the only thing that fixes it at that point is to close and re-start Daz Studio. Also, I can't change my aspect ratio or pixels for rendering. They are stuck and nothing I did would fix it, not even clicking defaults button.

Okay, that's fun. I'm putting in a support ticket because, even after uninstalling and re-installing Daz, my aspect ratio is locked and I can't change it. Anyone have any suggestions while I await support?

Anyone else familiar with the locked up aspect ratio/pixels thing? If I resize the viewport, it changes the dimensions of the render settings, but nothing else seems to work.

Okay, sorry, somehow the setting got changed to the active viewport. So it appears fixed, but the runaway CPU thing still happens while I'm working on a scene moving things about. Re-starting Daz will fix it, but I can't seem to force it to repeat.

Silly suggestion (maybe!) but is it tdlmake that is consuming CPU?  When converting texctures to the 'internal format' used by 3Delight DS will spawn quite a few tdlmake procesees that can cause that effect.  If so, they will stop!
