Dry Mud Desert fails to render

Spent the better part of an hour trying to get something other than a black screen at the end of a 60 second render for "Dry Mud Desert"

Can't figure out what I am doing wrong.

Any suggestions would be helpful...running the Beta version of Daz3d.

  • Does it have a skydome modelled into the scene?

There is a HDRI map in the 'Enviroment Map' is that what you mean.

see attached file, if that helps

Not exactly, but since that is the default HDRI image and the viewport shows the desert background it does answer my question - there is a "physical" dome, and that will block the HDR light from entering the scene. If the dome map is set up ciorrectly you could try substituting it for the existing HDR - click the little thumbnail in render Settings and then pick the desert backdrop image from the menu, then hide the dome (select it and click the Visible button in the Parameters pane, or click the eye icon next to it in the Scene pane) and see if that renders. There is an Iray add-on for the set - http://www.daz3d.com/dry-mud-desert-iray-and-add-ons - do you have that?
