Procedural Rooms?

I see lots of products that generate skies and land masses. I suggested once to the programmer who created INFINITO that we would all love something that generates rooms.

We pretty much all know how it would work. You'd Create a new [insert name of generator] and have sliders for the number of rooms, with drop downs/child relationships with windows and doors-

with more drop downs and sliders for types of opening. Arches...or...door....or opening with dials for size.

Once selected, the PARAMETERS could work the same way and move the doors/windows/features around.

Some things are obvious like ceiling height or wall thickness. And you could also make an endjoint that connects to other sets/rooms.

If you set '# of walls' to zero, you get a round room with an oval shape.

 

I'd love to have this and then just populate the room with various props.

-pick textures for the type of wall and floor. Add artwork and even let users load images into the picture slots. Great for sci-fi monitors .

  • Yes, this would be very welcome. I dont mind assembling rooms but having the ability to do that by entering perameters and changeing sliders would be so much faster than dragging everything around the stage.
