Fitting clothe from one Gen-2 to another Gen-2 without changing the clothe's previously fitted shape

Hello! Been learning a lot these last few days! Everything I need to know thanx to this great forum! :)

Well... The last chapter in my Daz 4.9 University is here... And this one is a toughee...

I am trying to fit a bikini top from one Genesis 2 female figure, that is shaped in a certain way because it is fitted to the Genesis 2 model... To another Genesis 2 model which is bigger. I am trying to create the illusion that the bikini top is too small for the bigger Genesis 2 character.

I've tried loading the two figures in Daz, with the geometry select, select the Genesis 2 with the fitted bikini top, right click, and select hide polygons... Leaving the bikini top intact and in the shape I want it to be able to fit it manually in ther other bigger version of Genesis 2. The problem is both Genesis 2 in the scene disappear their polygons, not just the one with the bikini top.

I've also tried d-forming the bra (even though it's not the size I want becaue it is not fitted to the first Genesis 2 model) but all I've come out with is a jumbled up deformation that makes no sense, no matter how many d-forms I apply.

I know Daz wasn't made for this type of thing I am trying to do, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of the "fitting" the clothe... But there must be a TRICK, I've seen other  3-D images where it's possible!

Any help will as always! be greatly appreciated! Thanx fer' reading! :)

  • If one figure iss caled up and the other scaled down adjust the scale so that the one wearing the top is the same proportion to the base figure as the one you are using is to the large figure.

Hide everything but the top and use File>Export to save it as an OBJ

Import the OBJ using the same preset as you used for export.

Use DForms or the like to get the straps to fit the standard figure.

Hide everything but the imported OBJ, then export that as OBJ

Reimpot the modified OBJ - it should now, in its zeroed state, fit the zeroed figure the way you want the top to look.

Run the Transfer Utility to rig that OBJ for the figure.

THANX! It worked!!! Now I can d-form it and fit it manually! The trick was in importing is as an object! :D

Could there be a way to fit an object to genesis??? That would be strange...

Can an object be fitted using DYNAMIC CLOTHING?! :D
