I am having trouble getting Genesis 3 animations to look right when they are imported in as BVH files from MotionBuilder
Here is a video showing the problem I am having:
Does anyone have an idea of what is causing this problem? In the video, I imported a Genesis 3 FBX file that has already been characterized in MotionBuilder. Once I load Genesis 3 Female in DAZ Studio, I tried removing limits on rotations and that works on Genesis 2 figures but when I tried the same thing with Genesis 3 the animation still looks messed up.

You need to set bone mapping when you import BVH . in your video, You seems not re-assgin bones from Import BVH to genesis3 rigs.
I can see, you just check which bone was recorded, but it not means current bone mapping are correctly assgined.(I think they are wrong)
work flow is like that,
1. select bone in left pane. (imported bvh), it will high-light, assgined bone of right pane.(Figure in daz studio)
2 Select correct bone in right pane (Figure in daz studio) which you hope to assgin for the bone you select in 1.(bvh)
3 after assgin all bones, re-select each bone one by one in left pane,, , then check all bones are correctly assgined (simply need to assgin same name bone,)
Usually you may better, assign all nodes even though you do not use them in current import bvh . and save your modified bone mapping as new one.
and re-use them, when import bvh which characterized for Genesis3 from motion builder.
That worked. Thank you. Do you know the location of the file where the mapping is safed to?
No. Actually I want to know Answer of your question. I serched some directories which DS insalled, and setting files, (eg your documents appdata directories)
and program directories, I could not found the saved option files for importer , exporter. I could only find dll files for import export.
