WoW Models...

Hey all I'm planning to use DAZ to make a WoW comic strip, but I am having trouble getting my Female Troll to look the way they do in the game. I also tried to use the Creator Creator element for V4 to try shaping V4 into a WoW Troll without much lock(the tust were too small, the two toed feet morph looks funny, and I don't have a morph to make the hand three fingered, Not to menction the fact that I don't have any Teal Colored skins)...

Does anyone know if Daz has released any WoW stuff? Like Wow Trolls, Orcs, or anything that looks like any of the games other races?

No, not directly...there may be some freebie content, but even that's doubtful. Game content and morphs to match it, are areas that not a lot of people get into, as depending on the game there can be massive headaches involved. Yes, there are some games that have some morphs/content in DS or Poser format, but not really all that many.

    Thank you sir...

I was able to find the three finger morph, and though it's not perfect I have attached an image of what I was able to come up with for a female troll using what I had...

I found this workflow: http://www.toxik.sk/world-of-warcraft-3d-models-in-maya-part1/ (i.e. Wow Model Viewer followed by FBX conversion in Milkshape). I haven't tried it so I don't know if the FBX import in DS would work, but it's worth a try. Of course textures are going to be a bit on the low res side.

It's mind blowing how hyper low-poly those models are!

I have been trying to get models from WoW to Daz Studio, Poser, or Bryce for quite awhile with a low degree of dedication. I am self taught and my learning curve is not impressive at all...grr. But what I have done to get the Model, as well as the model's gear into a somewhat useable .Obj file is this. Open WoW Model Viewer, in this case I imported my Undead Warlock from the armory by placing the link in the required field. Once It is imported into WoW Model viewer I export as an .Obj file. Then I open that with Daz Studio. At this point it is an unusable statue and very low poly. But if you send it to Bryce, delete the ground plane (probably not necessary but its what I do) in the upper left corner click edit, and select all. Click on the "E" to the right of your model. This will open the mesh edit window and allow you to smooth and add Some Polygons. At this point you can ungroup which will give you all of the different components, which are not visible in Daz Studio. head, eyes, weapon, etc. At this point I export the individual components to a file, and import them into a Daz Studio scene. I am still working on modeling them in Hexagon and eventually Poser. I am still a ways off but maybe this will help somewhat. As I said earlier, I am self taught and learn by trial and error so if I have stated something painfully obvious please forgive me. I came across this post while trying to figure out how to export wow animations, and thought what I found may help. Let me know if you figure out how to rip wow content in an easy to understand way. Thanks, Necroliege
