Hi 3dProclivity. Your explanation does make sense, but here in Canada our Privacy Act clearly defines what personal information can be collected by businesses and when it must be destroyed. Obviously, our laws here are not enforceable in the US. As I mentioned, I have been purchasing items online for years and paying bills online for years without incident until now.

Understood. And it IS disconcerting for sure.

At least fill out a ticket. If there is a bug, it could help others too. If not, maybe they'll at least explain what happened and tell you what they will do to prevent it from happening again.

Thanks 3D - I have submitted a ticket and I am confident that DAZ will correct this. The main reason for my original post was for a heads up to other members.

Oh crap - it's midnight here and my workstation is going to turn into a Vic20 - gotta go!

That's why they invented debit and prepaid cards! For the criminally paranoid. ;)

Paranoid is an unreasonable fear of something unlikely to happen, thus this seems to fail the basic test of being paranoid.

You are not the only one, apparently daz recently were restoring some parts of the website from an older version and restored a bit too much-including some folks' PC subscriptions!

If you put in a ticket they will refund you, and give you a free month, I think it was said....

    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/14374/

it's very shoddy though, Daz should be actively seeking out the customers that got billed because most probably didn't even realize it. But it seems like Daz is sitting and waiting for people to NOTICE....

And I think you'll have to cancel subscription again.

    1. It was a joke.
    2. Do you think debit cards are only applicable to this conversation?
    3. Most people switch to debit cards because they do not trust credit cards so paranoid still applies although criminally paranoid was just a jibe at the conversation.

    Lighten up will you?

To cancel your PC Membership, you must go to your My Subscriptions section on your Account Page, click edit, then click Cancel. If you are paying via credit card, this will be all you need to do. If you were paying via PayPal, you must also cancel your PayPal subscription on your PayPal account or you will continue to be charged via PayPal.
If you have completed the following and have still been charged, please submit a help request to our Sales team, here,

    http://www.daz3d.com/shop/help/help-contact-us

We apologize for any mix up or confusion. Thank you for your patience.

That would be fine and dandy except, according to my subscription page.. I DON"T have any subscriptions. Not a new issue, it's been like this since the site switch over. I know that my PC membership expires in April, I think I got a free month, the first time I filed a ticket about the fact that my PC membership/expiration date didn't show up on My Subscription page. We see how well that worked out. How am I suppose to keep DAZ from renewing something I don't have????

Unfortunately this has happened before. Last summer I and several other people canceled our PC memberships properly, went for a couple of months without being billed, then were suddenly billed for renewing our PC memberships. Daz was very quick to fix the situation, but it is disturbing that it is happening again. I really hope that they can get a permanent fix this time.

For anyone else experiencing this problem, immediately contact Daz about it.

I'm happy for the heads-up about this issue. Luckily I didn't get renewed (I canceled back in November), but I did notice old cards that I had previously deleted were showing in my payment methods. I re-deleted them and closed the number I had assigned to Daz (I use one-time use numbers that can have time and amount limits after some bad experiences with subscriptions previously). I hope those of you with problems get them sorted quickly.

I have never been arrested for being paranoid. That doesn't mean they still aren't out to get me...

This happened to me in September of last year, it took 2 weeks to rectify the refund to my bank. I too cancelled my membership in June and it showed cancelled in the account until I checked in late September and saw it was reactivated, checked my bank and the charge was made.

I also removed my CC info in June when I cancelled. The explanation I was given(by an email) was the my CC was still in their system although I removed it. It was a nasty experience needless to say it ruined any present and future business with DAZ and unfortunately with the wonderful published Artists who peddle here.

I have spent $8 since June and I'm afraid it may be less until this situation changes. It is a sad trend developing.

I'm in the same boat here stumpc. I have been a customer of Daz for over 8 years, buying many items from both Daz and the PA's. I haven't been very impressed with the way this company has been running over the last year or so. Daz is telling me it is going to take up to two weeks to reverse the charge on my credit card when they arbitrarily kicked me back into the Platinum Club and double billed me. I told them they have until noon this Friday or I contact my credit card company to charge-back this amount. Ridiculous! Additionally, even though I have cancelled my PC membership and deleted my credit card, my card number is still showing up in my account. What a way to run (ruin?) a business!

    Hey All,

I feel bad that some of you feel this was an intentional doing from the DAZ side. They were many subscriptions that were simply not cancelled. Due to the new site, many Memberships were delayed, credit card information was expired, etc. We issued many free Memberships to many users. The renewals that happened in January were supposed to be a fresh, correct start for our PC Members. We happened to be switching servers at the same time. Unfortunately the old server was processing the charges, as well as the new server. So there were customers that were charged 2 times. As soon as we realized this error, and not a minute later, did we implement an apology and offer a solution. We offered the 2 months you have paid for, a free month, and a $10 coupon code. We also offered the option for you to reject and request a refund. This was an error, and we apologize for the error and the inconveniences this may have caused. Please understand that if you would not like the offer then please contact us at Sales for a refund. Please also understand that if you thought your Membership was cancelled, this was not reopened without your permission, from our end it looks pending, like one of the accounts the new site did not renew. If you did intend to cancel, please know we are more than willing to cancel and refund the charges. DAZ did not do this to make anyone mad, or lose trust. And we are here to answer any questions or concerns. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Please contact us if you need anything else.

I don't feel that DAZ did this on purpose. I believe it was a mistake and that DAZ is doing the best it can to rectify that error. My opinion.

    To bcreek:

I speak for myself when I say I do not require an apology, nor do I think that DAZ did this intentionally. My problem is that this company is treating this as a one time issue with an "oopsie daisy" attitude. In reality, this is an ongoing problem with DAZ operations, which is confirmed by many posters that have had similar issues throughout 2012. The old server excuse doesn't wash - customers credit information should have already been deleted from those drives when they cancelled their PC memberships and deleted credit card information. Neither a sorry nor a $10.00 coupon is going to restore my trust in Daz with my credit information. Also, waiting 14 days for a refund is unacceptable when 48 hours or less is the norm. Daz needs to get its' act together and start running this company the way they did earlier this decade, or its' customer base will drop faster than it grew.
