Confused: does Poser content work in DAZ

Hi,

First of all I apologize if this has been asked a million times, basically I'm a DAZ user and I'm interested in this product https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/rt-v4-native-american/56645 , but it says it's for Poser 5 and above without any mention of DAZ compatibility.

The thing is, I've read DAZ's documentation Centre and it says that DAZ is programmed to use both DAZ and Poser content and more so in fact for the latter since most existing content is in Poser format. However with that said I've seen Poser-only products on Renderosity with 'may not work with DAZ/something along this line' in the product description. 

Hence is there any way to determine which Poser content will work on DAZ?

Most poser content will work in DS rather well. However

• Materials don't translate well as DS will ignore any settings using Material Room nodes (for example displacement or specular maps). So when you use an item made for Poser you will at least need to adjust the materials.
• Poser Procedural materials won't work at all
• DS doesn't have an equivalent to Poser cloth room, so Poser dynamic clothing will behave as a static object in DS.
• Python scripts won't work at all
• Dynamic hair won't work at all
• Figures using Poser weighmapping (introduced in P9, used for example for the Poser version of Star! or Dawn) or capsule rigging (introduced in P8 and barely used, but still) will load with lots of error messages and distort horribly if you try to pose them, you'd need to re-rig them to use in DS.
• Poser lights are rather useless in DS as most of their properties will be ignored. You can usually get something out of them with lots of fiddling.
• Morphs using pmd injection don't work

 The pack you linked to should work fine in DS with some material adjustments.

If you look at the Readme, you'll find it's quite an old item. Ten years ago, DAZ|Studio was still very new, and not many people knew how well (or even if) it could use Poser content, so it's not really surprising compatibility isn't mentioned.
