Items disappear during rendering

I rendered in 3Delight (see Attachment1) and the character sitting down was missing his hair, which, can be clearly seen as being present in the editor (see Attachment2). Where did the hair go and how do I bring it back so that it renders in the scene?

Just as an FYI, the hair DOES render from a different angle (see Attachement3). Both renders were done with the default settings. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out with this.
