Cartoon / comics effect

What rendering settings do I need to set in order to get an image that will look like the old style comics ?

  • In which application? In any event, that would almost certainly be soemthing that would require post-work - though for Daz Studio there are 3Delight shader sets that may get you part of the way and Poser has the sketch settings that can give a starting point.

    In DAZ3d 4.9

I don't need it to look EXACTLY like a comic book scene but to have it look less realistic than the default IRAY or 3Delight settings. I want to get something like what I have in the attachment. What IRAY / 3Delight settings do I have to change to get that?

  • You could just use the Default Daz Shader, isntead of any of the add-ons, then set the render Engine and turn on Cartoon mode (which is a hidden property so you would need to enable thsoe from Render Settings option menu).

That method of printing is called halftone. You probably can use a filter in Gimp or Postoshop Essentials - I'd be really surprised if they didn't have a haltone or 4 color filter. However, I checked Gimp filters and there is not such filters included with the standard install. As it is technology going way back, I'd guess there are filters plugins somewhere to be found if you search.
