Migrating DAZ v4.9 64 bit and DAZ v4.8 32 bit to new Windows 10 PC

Hi there,
I am about to tackle moving all my DAZ content from my old Vista 64 to a new Windows 10 PC. I want to make sure I do this correctly and avoid any disasters. I want to ensure all my categories that I have created also get moved over so I think that must require exporting these from DAZ Studio. I think they are in a different location to the regular libraries of content (Runtime).
I guess the first thing would be to install DAZ 4.9 and then DAZ Install Manager?
Are there any migration tutorials?
Any help would be super-appreciated! :-)

Which database are you using - Valentina or PostgreSQL? If you see instances of PostgreSQL running when DS or DIM are running it's the latter.
Hi Richard,
I see only PostgreSQL from Windows Task Manager if DAZ 4.9 or DIM is loaded.
I was also wondering how the migration would affect my purchased plugins for DAZ?
Thanks
So you are migrating and not new installing? It should not harm DAZ at all although you may want to make system images of all your drives before you migrate.
OK, if you are using the defaults then it should be enough to copy the Roaming\DAZ 3D\cms folders from the AppData folder on your old machine to the new, I think - possibly without the config files (for DS in the cms folder and for PostgreSQL in the cluster folder within that). I don't currently have access to my main system to check file names. Make sure you take a back-up of everything before trying.
That is correct. I want to take all the content, categories, from my old operating system, and move them to my new Windows 10. I have made image backups, so I should be okay, hopefully :-)
Thanks Richard! I will give that a shot. I'm looking forward to seeing how the rendering speed will be affected with my new GPU setup on my laptop.
Okay, I have another question... I have DAZ Studio 4.9 installed, and copied over all my content directories, and configured them in DIM and Studio. Next, it appears that 4.9 requires an additional step of installing PostgreSQL CMS unless I am mistaken? I am lost which I need to install from DIM? I see the following:
1)PostgreSQL CMS (Win 32-bit)
2) PostgreSQL CMS (Win 32-bit) Public Build +Beta+
3) PostgreSQL CMS (Win 64-bit)
4) PostgreSQL CMS (Win 64-bit) Public Build +Beta+
5) PostgreSQL CMS (Win 32-bit) From Valentina CMS Conversion
6) PostgreSQL CMS (Win 32-bit) From Valentina CMS Conversion Public Build +Beta+
I am running 64 bit Studio 4.9, so I guess (3) from my list? I am going to install Studio 4.8 32 bit also in the near future.
The last two convert your old Valentina database to PostgreSQL (or rather copy to - the original is not touched). That hapens when you "install" so it needs doing only once. Other than that, just install one of the PostgreSQL packs - presumably the 64 bit if you have a 64 bit OS.
