I've always wondered if there was a way to use the spherical renders as a dome yet still get light into the interior (since they aren't hdri's). A try or two in the past didn't lead to success but an attempt yesterday did. These use some of the spherical renders I posted previously. They suffer as do hdri's from lack of ground shadows and possible mismatch of the foreground and background dome light direction, but you can use the same techniques to fix. These are all Iray renders..
This first one uses Northern Winter Village with a female figure exiting a building:
This second one uses the Golf Course with the same figure closer to the camera:
These next two use Highland Lakeside Cabin and Dock with the same figure at two different locations:
These aren't perfect so I'll be playing around with various camera, light, and render parameters to see what's possible. One thing I've seen is that if you click on them to see them full size, the colors are richer, not sure why that is.
I saw these in another thread showing the ROG Red Crow Inn, an outstanding product in the store. The PA posted some 360 renders you should take a look at:

Barbult did a marvelous 360 render using Ultrascenery and Alienator Pro. Very colorful and beautiful in my estimation. Here is the links to her 2D post and 360 post, she's the most innovative person working with these two products.

All images in 360 3d. If you have vr glasses, you can see them in real 3d.
Those are great! Very immersive, grand feel. I don't have vr glasses but regular red-blue worked to give a 3D effect.
