  • What.  The.  Hell.  Is.  This?

This is great stuff.  Truly.  I just stumbled onto it and I'm damned impressed.  Wish I would've discovered these Annilhilators sooner.

    Thank you!

Congrats on having TWO novels out.

    Trailer was cool, too.

  • I should be thanking you.  I always considered making a graphic novel but never thought I could achieve the right 'look.'  Your series clearly demonstrates that you can have a crisp, professional looking graphic novel by using elements from DAZ Studio.  It's really inspiring, can't wait to see more.

That's funny. I always wanted to write a novel AND do animation.

I started using Daz in order to make a movie.

Eventually, that's where everything is going.

    You did that trailer?

    I assume you did.

I was kinda hoping a video would be one of your properties.

  • I started using Poser 8 back in 2009 just as a means to make characters.  And that's it.  I simply wanted character profiles . . . then somehow I decided to give DAZ Stuido a try--and I thought that the User Interface was much easier so I stuck with it.  When I was editing my book I thought that I should make an animation to go along with it, because I know absolutely nothing about marketing but knew enough to know that few people have trailers to go along with thier novels.  So I took a leap at animation.  I'm not a good animator.  There's a TON of stuff to learn--Aniblocks makes things easier.  But what I'm good at is the editing, in my not so humble opinion.  But it takes up so much time that would rather spend writing.  HA!

Special Episode for Halloween. Part I Blood Bath

    http://issuu.com/producersedge/docs/halloween_2017_parti?e=3301537/54665158

Welcome to our All Hollow’s Eve special. It’s a Bloodbath of bullets, babes and blades when Force Six members Jackie-5 and LunStar-G investigate a secret research base that has gone silent. Its gratuitous gobs of graphic gore. Get some! Gradients and glib jibs from Drew Spence.

I thought the fight sequence on the floating platform were well choreographed. As I've said before,  I like your art choices with  big splash screens with alot going on.

The short prologue at the beginning explaining the team was useful to get up to speed on the story. this line caught my eye.  Good writing. .

Your Ambush Alley gave me the confidence to do outdoor scenes or else my entire series was going to happen in Level 19.

You seem to be on a good way with all your work! I guess it feels good to have your own work printed and to take in your hands. Keep it up!

  • Thanks. I have an entire season being printed as one big book. It's 302 pages long and is made up of 10 episodes.

And I have a magazine I created coming with all my short stories. So it's been a good run.

Still a lot more to do.

  • LinwellyLinwelly Posts: 5,795

Do you have a plan for what is still coming in the whole and when it will end or are you planning for one episode ahead, and kind of open end?

  • Well, weirdly, this is a comic I drew as a kid so I have a huge history sketched out. I kept thinking about them over years and I have, basically the end of their lives/adventures all fleshed out.

So I'm changing a few details, but keeping the overall points in place.

I have macro arcs, where I know what's going to happen, but the when, where and how I make up as I write out episodes.

I have a folder called Plot Devices where I keep all the story ideas. Some are just an episode title. Others are bits of conversation of exact scenes. Some just have notes on what props I'm using.

It can be super-detailed where I have the actual script and direction notes or loose to where I know what's going to happen, but don't know which team members are getting the mission.

So the opening script looks way different than the one that's finished by the end. By the end, the text is finalized and I've got rendering notes on how I did stuff. And even then, the script gets reworked according to the tone of the renders.

    ------------

So overall, it's got to be tight enough so I don't get lost or stuck and also loose enough so I can be inspired by creating as I go along.

Some stories are driven by Daz products. I bought the glass elevator and wrote an episode around that and The AntFarm's floating car wash.

I'll send you a PM link to that story.

Sounds like a good thing to work with. Its amazing how many people carrie their story with them for a very long time. I'm different in that point, I developed my story only last year. I've always had a lot of stories in my head but they usually were incredibly cheesy LOL. This one wasn't so I dared to make a move with it :D

Hmmm. which link is that? From what post, above?

If somewhere uses that link, it's dead now and should have been updated.

Since the books are for sale, everywhere, all the free links are being killed.

There's only a few sites where the internet friends get to read previews early.

I can send you a private link to read the whole story arc. Give me a few hours.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

My fault... I didn't notice I was on page one rather than page two of this thread. It's from your previous year post here in this thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/2923106/#Comment_2923106

But the recent ones and other older links seem to work fine, I just checked them.
