Wow I saw in another site a combination of peoples and cages. If time is good with me I will try something with this theme. For now I work with peoples+rocks, but very stupid I didn't think in cage too!

I’ll say one thing about this contest. I’ve had most of these shaders for months, and in some cases years, but outside of the Visual Style shaders, this is the first time I’ve really pulled them out and used them as anything other than quick fixes when something’s not quite meshing. But once you get started, it does become rather addictive. Case in point: I was playing with Smay’s new Stalker Girl character, and next thing I know, I’ve got a couple more kit bashed outfits put together. Here’s the first, “Crocodile DIerdre.”

    ITEMS USED:
Hat – Omega Huntress X by Luthbel
Necklace – BC Megapack by Shadownet, LWPerkins
Top – Hot Chili by 4Blueyes
Belt & Armguards – The Travailian for SP3
Knife & Sheath – Cheyenne for M4 by Ravenhair
Loincloth – Leggings Outfit by Xena
    Panty - Justiciar by Bobbie25
Leg guards –Knee Bandages for Vicky 4 by Evil Innocence
Boots – Town & Country for Genesis by Mada

(Background is From the Cheyenne Village, hair is Ria by SWAM, skin (w/wounds) is Sisterhood Skin by Alfaseed and the character is Stalkie.)

    SHADERS USED:
Supersuit Bundle – Worn Leather (both white & with green diffuse,) Camo - Underbrush (on panty)
Hardcore Utility Shaders by Fisty, Shadowhawk 1 – Shiny Brass M, Rubber
Metalized Glass Shaders by Age of Armor – Opal

    Eligible for:
    Clothing Kit Bash

    Look Ma! No Cows!

This lovely ensemble consists of the Sorceress's Dress sleeves, M4's Regency Jacket torso, v4's Belt from Moroccan Dreams, Max Muscle's Leotard for the pants, and rounded out with the Boots from the M3 Astronaut. Unified look from Watered Silk Shader Set, free in the old forums Carrara Freepozitory (and an African Elephant Stock Shader from Carrara for the boots).

It took 3 mostly invisible Plant Pixies to fill the outfit; 1 for the head, and 1 for each hand.

Background is a fractal from Mutatorkammer, a free Fractal Generator available at http://www.fractalforums.com and the base is called Fairytale Base and came from ShareCG ( http://www.sharecg.com/v/45417/View/11/Poser/Fairytale-Base-Prop-for-Poser )

“Oh, I see. The NORTH end of the beach on the WEST side of the SOUTH end of the island? Right, I got it now, sir.”

Still playing with Stalker Girl, and I had a costume where the buttons kept distorting. Solution: cover everything with Fabricator textures. (The weaves feature is pretty awesome, so I added a close up to show it off. ) Obviously the Grime-Inizer got a huge workout on this one as well, but mostly this is all about the poses and expressions. I just love that deadpan look Stalkie has, so putting her next to an infuriated Julie seemed the ideal way to play off it.

    Items Used:
    Stalker Girl –
Holsters – Smay’s Bad Guy for Genesis
Top - Poserworld Baseball Uniform for M4
Belt – Hot Uniforms Soldier by Pretty3D
Pants – Etsuko for V4 by Poserworld
    Boots- Town Girl by Dogz
    YT Julie –
    Bikini Top & Bottom – V4 Basicwear
Flipflop – Teen Swag by Bobbie25 & Sarsa

    Costume Shaders –
Fabricator – Camo1 texture, using Knit Plaine, Knit Ribbed 2 and Canvas weaves
Supersuit - Green Plastic, Armorman Gold
Hybrid Grunge Grime-Inizer – Mud Splatter & Mudsplatter Fine

Hair Shaders (on Wet Hair by Valea) – Toon Style by DestinysGarden

    Set & Props
    Groundplane from Cheyenne Native Village
Skydome from Prison Yard by Flipmode
    Plated Wolf by Petipet
Signpost & lawn chair from City Roads by Petipet
Towel & “beach towel” (actually a bathmat,) from Sauna by Greenpots
Phone from “I’m on the Phone” by First Bastion

    Set & Prop Shaders
Pimp My Prop Sand by Mareah
DLD metal Shaders – Blush Metal
    Supersuit – Plum Sparkle plastic
Fabricator – Strips pink pattern with Canvas weave, Spots Purple and White Diffuse (colored pink) with Towel Weaves
Hybrid Grunge Rag- Erator –Rips & Tears
Hybrid Grunge Grime-Inizer – Mud Splatter & Mudsplatter Fine

    Eligible for:

And now for something completely different – A textured figure inside another textured figure with lights inside that.
As soon as I started playing with the “Expanded Metal” shaders in the Hardcore Utility Shaders, I knew I had to try something like this, and when Age of Armor dropped his Metalic Glass Shaders out, it seemed like a perfect match. My first few attempts at a “living stained glass statue” came out looking more like chianti bottles than the Sorayama-ish type figures I’d imagined, though, as reducing the character to an outline tends to make them look a lot more Reubenesque. Happily, Smay’s lean, mean Stalker Girl was the last piece of the puzzle I needed to pull it off. I did the same trick on the arches in the foreground, though it’s harder to see the glass there, and then the “outside” is all done in plain expanded metal and chunks of glass brick. Because it was almost impossible to get the two figures to precisely nestle inside each other, I ended up doing several versions with the inner figure in slightly different positions, as well as one with no inner figure, and used the extra bits to patch areas with “spill-over” in photoshop.

    Items Used:
Stalker Girl for Genesis by Smay X 2
Struts and Arches from GIS Orion by Jack Tomalin
Ruins set & The Facility by Mr. Sparky
    Ground from Cheyenne Native Village
    Shaders Used:
Expanded Copper, Titanium, Gunmetal & Steel from Hardcore Utility Shaders by Fisty & SHadowhawk 1
Carnival Blue Gold red, Blue Gold Green & Teal Red blue; Opal Blue Gold and Blue Teal Violet; and Chipped Glass from Metalized Glass Shaders by Age of Armour

    Eligible for:

There haven’t been too many set kit bashes so far, so I thought I’d go all-out with my take on the classic James Bond Villain-type doomsday installation. There are parts of at least a dozen kits integrated in here, and almost nothing is at the original scale intended, but most of the key architectural elements come from the following:

The main walls, supports, piping, elevated platforms, stairs and the ring elements are from GIS Terminal, GIS Nova, GIS Orion, GIS Pro and GIS Sigma, all from Jack Thomalin, the central concrete support structure, some of the staircases and a large amount of the rock strata are from Parkside Point Ground, also by Mr. Thomalin. More of the rock strata is from Alchemy Chasm, additional catwalks, staircases and gantries are from ArtCollaborations’ The Loading Dock and AppleJack’s The Hanger, foreground and far rear structures are parts of Stonemason’s Greeble City Blocks, the elevated conduits are from the Poser 2012 extras and Mr. Sparky’s SF Kit, the two big devices with the glowing blue barrels are actually machine guns from the Poser Spy Helicopter, and the water plane is from… actually, I forget which one I ended up using, but it’s probably from Parkside Point or the Fantasy Castle ground.

Finally, although it’s barely visible, there are a bunch of tiny Genesis figures working the set, all dressed in matching “Henchman Gear” that was built from the Marauder’s gas mask, the Future Cop’s helmet, and the male sci-fi boots (all from the Genesis Classics bundle,) over a retro-spacesuit costume for M3 from Poserworld. (see inset, then see if you can spot some of these guys.)

Shaders used – The unifying elements are the rock texture, which is actually Asphalt from Pimp My Prop, a lot of paint from Khory & st. vincent's Design Tool Box, and the Plasma effects shaders from the Supersuit bundle. A lot of the lighting is also shaders, mostly the blue, green and white plasma glows from the Supersuit. The little workers have a Design Tool box green paint base, metal helmets using a metal shader from Real Metals by DzFIre, and gloves and undersuits that are actually just a Hardcore Utility Shaders metal mesh applied directly on the skin of the hands and neck.

(edited to correct and add content used that I forgot.)

    Eligible for:
    Building Kit Bash

In the rules, where it refers to "shaders," does the mean "shader presets," or actual new shaders? From context I'm thinking the former, but I just want to be sure.

Hello there everyone, some cool stuff you've got there!

Here's what I've managed to come up with this far... As for "Why do those outfits you put together always look so weird?" - well, this is just my particularly quirky understanding of "space opera"/"fantasy" stuff.

Rendered in DAZ Studio 3, postwork in Paint.NET; Michael2 character: free Marius skin by Mec4D, free Elric morph from RDNA; background: Sandworld by 3-d-c

    Clothing:
    1) DAZ Morphing Boots
    2) free RDNA Temple Guard – Abdomen Wrap
    3) PhilC free Gloves
    Poserworld clothing:
    4) Arab Ghutra
    5) Low-rise Pants + added matzones
    6) Casual Nobleman Shirt

    Shader presets (with alterations):
Ye Olde Clothe //blacking15, beaded dark, crochet bone//
MachPack //rough linen, black stitched leather, suede, pewter//

Rendered in DAZ Studio 4.5 Pro. Postworked in Paint Shop Pro

Outfit Creation was made with the following outfits:

Ardala: Outfit: Cape * Dynamic Supersuit Set 2 Cosmic Gods by SimonWM, OptiTex.
Ardala: Outfit: Loin Cloth Hip Cloth 2 for Victoria 3 by aerysoul. 13 row first column
Ardala: Outfit: Ornament on belt * Bloody Roses Artifact 4 Disc by Bloody Roses.
Ardala: Outfit: Pants * V2 Fantasy Dancer by Traveler.
Ardala: Outfit: Pendant on Collar Lady Anne by Jan19. Look on the left side of the page
Ardala: Outfit: Shoes * Roman Style Sandals for V4 by JoEtzold.
Ardala: Outfit: Top * Temple Priestess by Traveler.
Ardala: Outfit: Collar * The Rulers of Egypt by DAZ 3D.

The following is acknowledgement of other freebies
Ardala: Base: Hair Queen Headdress by oro_snake English Bob. 2nd one down
Ardala: Base: Texture * Free V3 Base Set by Ecstasy.
Ardala: Outfit: Jewelry: Crown Dharmilia V3 by Dreampaint. 2nd Row, 2nd Column
Ardala: Outfit: Jewelry: Rings * Vuclan Rings by mylochka.
Ardala: Pet * Mech 1258 robot dog dinosaur by Simon-3D.
Environment: Lighting InaneGlory's Simple Soft Lighting by InaneGlory.
Environment: Structure * Caprinia Pavilion by McGyve.
Environment: Tree Atlas Cedar by xfrog.

The shader used in the render.
Shader: Used on the Princess's skin * Elite Human Surface Shader by omnifreaker. Product that contains the shader
Shader: Used on the gold non-textured items of the outfit and the chrome on the Pet * Ultimate Shader Pack for DAZ Studio by Georgehaze.
Shader: The metalic textured gold and textured blue items of the outfit and her nails. These do not work well in 4.5 so I have fixed them and tweaked them for my use. *
Shader Pack 1 for Daz|Studio 3 by Groovemaster.
Shader: This is used on the blue portion of the pillow * KerWar Fancies 01 by sazzyazzca.
Shader: The shine on the floor of the Palace * Super Shine Shader by Marianne.

My shader: The velvet on the bench/chair and pillow is one I built in Shader Builder. So far all I can get out of it are dark colors. The cape, cloth on the loin cloth, and pants are a texture shader I created. I kept the existing transparency map on the pants to get the look of the sheerness. The eyes of the pet is a shader that I made in Shadermixer by following Pendaria's instructions on the old DAZ forums.
Thank you for having the contest this year. It is so very much fun to kit bash!

Man, some nice stuff popping up here! This is one I’ve been fiddling with for a few days, off and on. I’d purchased Rhiannon’s Katya, and while it’s a nice costume, it really didn’t call up the old “I Dream of Jeannie” vibe to me.
