Worldbuilders Fundraiser & Book Lottery

If we still have book lovers around, especially in the sci-fi and fantasy wings, they might be interested in the annual Worldbuilders fundraiser for Heifer International. There are pretty much a gajillion bits of geekery in the lottery, from entire lots of signed books, to signed ARCs, webcomics, some toys, Neil Gaiman's cursed ARC of Stardust... a knife... Er, yeah, lots of stuff. The easiest way to get around is just to hit worldbuilders.org and go from there. If you haven't heard of Heifer International, you might look over their website, and see if their 'hand up not hand out' organization something you'd be interested in helping out even if there wasn't a mega-book-lottery.

Every $10 donated through the Worldbuilders team page gets you a shot in the lottery, kinda like buying tickets, and Worldbuilders is matching all donations made through the ending of the fundraiser. The goal this year is an enormous-seeming $500k, which is twice the goal achieved last year. The deadline was just extended to the end of 1/21 and as I look right now we're just shy of $380k, which is way more than last year even if we don't make it.

I'm not going to beg or anything, BUT PLEAAAASE JUST LOOK PLEAAAASEEEEEEEEEEE.

*ahem*

Had I thought of it earlier, I might have offered amazingly cool wonderful things (actually probably just something boring and sad like gift certificates) for books-for-goats renderings, so sorry. My bad. I suck. Please check it out anyway. You can also render goats and books anyway, if you like. I just probably won't give you anything. Except hugs. I probably won't give hugs, either. Maybe a high five. "High fives for goats! Accepting entries!"
