Lots of reflections will take longer to render. The floor is highly reflective, causing considerable additional rendering overhead. Depending on your machine, you may not see a progression for much longer than 4 minutes.

If you're looking to cut rendering time down, find the Max Path Length control in the render panel, and adjust that from the defailt -1 (infinite) to about 7 or 8. This limits the ray bounces for reflections. Avoid going lower, or else other parts of your scene (like eyes) may not render properly.

It's not unusual for my bigger scenes to take 10 minutes to show anything at all in the render window, and I'm on a beast.  Try giving it some more time and see how it does.

If you're rendering without an nVidia GPU card, be happy to have a halfways noise-free result after 3 hours.
